I'm honestly not sure why I keep watching these Signal 23 gay shows. I guess they're a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, and I usually tune in just hoping to see some hot Black guys or a few decent hookup scenes. The problem is that these series almost never have a real plot, and the acting and directing are always super amateur and just plain bad. Unfortunately, this one didn't even have the "eye candy" going for it, as most of the guys weren't even that attractive. The whole thing is really short, only six episodes, and each one lasts about 12 to 14 minutes. The main guy in the story is D, a young 16 year old Black guy who is basically at his sexual peak and spent his summer just looking for action. In the first episode, he meets a 19-year-old online for a hookup, but the kid’s dad walks in right in the middle of things and kicks D out. When Darkness Falls / The Best of Care

This is a set of two "gay horror" films in one set made by the same producer/director. The first one is a full fledged film while the other one is a 30 minute short film. Sadly both the film are pretty bad in terms of story, acting, direction.. everything.

The main feature is "When Darkness Falls", where Kevin, a prankster invites his most recent boyfriend, Danny, to his parent's summer home in the woods. Danny, the antithesis of Kevin, is a fearful, sweet, one-man guy naive to the likes of Kevin and his friends. Kevin gets a kick out of scaring Danny about the local folklore surrounding his house and the zombies that supposedly roam the adjacent cemetery. When darkness falls, noises outside the house begin to scare the two shitless. Even after Kevin's friends reveal they were behind the creepy happenings, things continue down a scary spiral revealing the true story of the zombies that wander the night. Neither the story is original nor the acting. The film is stretched beyond patience for no reason at all. The story is pretty simple, but they actually manage to build a tad bit of tension. The use of sound affects is horribly overdone, and is often ignored by the actors.

The second short film is called "The Best of Care". Billy has been taking care of his ailing boyfriend for a while now and the pressure and constant nagging by his boyfriend is getting to him now. When the constant complaining pushes Billy over the edge, he kills his partner. Just when Billy thinks his problems are over, things start to get eery and his problems get worse than it can possibly get. Again, this film could have been easily 15 minutes shorter because nothing made sense.  Some guy is taking care of his sick asshole boyfriend so he can inherit the money, and then things go awry. I appreciate the makers trying to give us something out of the box in the gay genre but sadly in the process they end up making something so bad, so one is embarrassed to even admit having seen some of these really god awful films. 

Both these films feel like home movies made by a group of friends to laugh about with each other afterwards. I hope they had fun making it. I am hoping I don't see anything this amateurish again for a while. I need a break. (2/10)

How ironic that you would review another Jeff London film right after I commented on Best Day Ever. I remember kind of watching these some time ago, but them not holding my attention enough so was probably doing something else as well at the time. This is not on my re-watch sometime list. I feel like I should go leave a quick comment under Jeff London's Regarding Billy and Arizona Sky because I'm really fond of those films and would like him to keep making more movies. I probably won't, but I often re-watch Regarding Billy around Christmas, so I will then.

Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. Sei no Gekiyaku (Japanese) [Dangerous Drugs of Sex]

Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1.
