This was such a cute, easy and warm little mini series that tried to combine food (especially dessert) and BL into one. How can such a story go wrong. There are only 5 episodes and each of about 10 minutes. It doesn't waste time in any nonsense fluff, keeps things to the point and just make for an overall easy fun watch.
One day Amai Koichi hears two girls talking in the school that they have hard-hat intakes only 8.2 seconds of looking into each others eyes for two boys to fall in love. He is a novice in love and soon begins his quest for finding love with guys on whom he have had crushes in the past. We see a prospective man in every episode, who is going through some trouble and Amai Koichi trying to help him. He is an excellent baker, so in every episode he uses his skills to create a mouth watering dessert, which does help the person forget his problem but somehow every single time he fails to keep eye contact for more than 7 seconds. Its only in the last episode we see there has ben another guy all along who has been keeping an eye on Amai Koichi and they are probably the true lovers.
I loved that while cooking the delicious dish, we are given a brief quick history about the thing and also how this specific food could help the individual get over his issues. And somehow it makes sense. It's funny how Amai with his puppy eyes, hopes every time that maybe this time he will fall in love but something happens every time. Most guys just take one bite of what he makes and then leave, which is the biggest travesty of them all. In her 30 second appearance in every episode, it's actually his sister who steals the show with her brief cameo. The mini series works because of charming personality of the lead actor, his goofiness and willingness to find love and some very aesthetically pleasing food. Don't go out looking for deep meaning here. This is just a cute little series. And hey, I have today, the show did manage to find some real cute guys in every single episode. (6/10)
