The Journey To Killing You (Japanese Series)

This dark gritty Japanese BL is something I was not expecting. The story focuses on a Yakuza bodyguard  assigned to kill his young boss. The premise sounds interesting but the execution was just weird. There were lot of problems with the show like violence, abuse, coercion and even forcing themselves sexually. Eventually it somewhere becomes. BL with some nonsense stuff. Thankfully the series was only 6 episodes of about 26-30 minutes each. Kataoka is a respected yakuza leader. His boss has grown old and frail, unable to manage the organization anymore. Leadership now falls to the boss's son, Keito. He assigns Odajima as Kataoka's new handler to keep him in check. Kataoka is impulsive and treats Odajima aslmost as a servant even forcing sex on him. But beneath the rough exterior, Kataoka occasionally reveals a gentler side. Odajima, on the other hand,  is stoic and distant, keeping his emotions under tight control. What Kataoka doesn't know is that Odajima has a hidden agen...

Island: The Series (Filipino)

OMG! I don't even know where to begin. Five minutes into it and I knew already that this was going to be bad. Actually calling the show bad is actually being nice to the makers. The series was disastrous and atrocity in ever single department that you can imagine. From story, to location, to acting to direction. Surely this was done by amateurs but amateurs of another level. Sitting through even 5 episodes of 2-30 minutes was a task and for the first time I just gave up after 4th episode. I dint want to know what was really going on, I didn't care who all these random characters were, who kept coming or nothing at all. I just didn't care about any of that. This show was that bad, very confusing, messy, unrealistic plot.

I think somewhere in Episode 4 things started to make sense , but by then I was in such a state of bad shock that I had to give up. Different characters of Markus, Drake, Yeah were all starting to become fuzzy and made no sense whatsoever. I couldn't keep up with who's who. Are they brothers, friends or lovers; it made no sense. This one probably ha Don budget (forget low budget). It feels more like some guys got together in a village, decide to shoot a story with random neighbors around them, decided to improvise them with whatever and luckily for them a production company came and decided to release it. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. The film may not be the best, but it does have a noble intention to remind everyone of the evil affects of drugs and combining that with sex. Ah Zhe is in a happy relationship with his influencer boyfriend. On his partner's birthday, they end up going to a party, which interestingly is being hosted at a drug dealer's house and this is where for the first time he is exposed to the world of drugs. The duo somehow do it just enough and come back home but next day Ah She gets invited by the dealer Xiao Fei for a meal. The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1.
