I honestly think this might be the first time I’ve actually enjoyed a proper horror BL. I’ve checked out a few others in the past, but they usually felt a bit unpolished or amateurish—I can’t even remember their names, to be honest. This one is definitely a slow-burn rather than a fast-paced romance, tucked away inside a world of supernatural mysteries and fantastic secrets. You can tell the production is high-quality and well-researched; it feels like the creators really pushed themselves to give the audience something fresh. If you’re into BLs mixed with suspense and ghost stories, this is right up your alley. Just a heads-up: it’s a massive time investment. There are 12 episodes, each over 75 minutes, and the finale is basically a two-hour movie. The story follows Khem, a young guy in his twenties whose life is getting harder by the second because of a heavy family curse that lets him see ghosts. There’s this terrifying rule in his family where the boys don’t live past age 20, so hi...
Sometimes some shows are so bad, that you cant stop watching them. The third and hopefully final season of this French amateurish show falls in that category. Things continue to happen haphazardly but it's ok since you probably already saw the first two seasons and your expectations are set accordingly. This season has 10 episodes averaging to about 7-8 minutes and a longer season finale.
Season 2 had ended with Maykel proposing to Johaness, and this season is all about their wedding preparation. While they are busy with planning for wedding, they have another idea, what if they had a baby. Characters from previous two seasons keep re-entering the show. They ask one of their friends to be a surrogate and she agrees. Meanwhile another friend of theirs decides to become there wedding planner and helps them with all the arrangements and planning. The couple is excited and everyone is doing their thing, until in a shocking event the girl ends up losing the baby in the third month. Time is not so good for everyone but eventually someone gives a pep talk and things are back to square one. A new character, Johannes' brother enters to support his brother, despite him being known to be homophobic. And as much would have been, he ends up being the man who eventually gets the couple married. The show ends with them getting married in front of their friends.
Season 3 continues to be bad in both acting and direction and could be used as a study on how not to do basics of filmmaking like directing or editing. In this season, the director has also tried breaking the fourth wall and the characters speak to audiences at different points, but the way it is done so is so amateurish, it is almost laughable. Also things happens way too quick. The hush-hush wedding prep, a girl agreeing to be surrogate and getting pregnant and equally sudden losing the baby. Some of her dialogues were funny though. But besides that, a lot of characters like Maykel's old girlfriend and a man he once loved come backing picture but thankfully there is no drama. Personally, I saw the show because I know it is so bad that I won't be able to stop watching and thats exactly happened. I finished the entire thing in one sitting, although the overall duration is not that much anyway. Thankfully this was the final season when it was aired and we will finally be spared. (1/10)
