Nackte Männer im Wald (Austria) [Naked Men In The Wood]

He arranges a date for a bizarre role-play and she is spying on him, firmly believing that he is having an affair with a younger woman. The chase is on. An almost comedy short film which also addresses some serious issues. Total fun 30 minutes.

Evening Miracle (Myanmar)

Traumatized in their own ways, they use music to heal them of their past and heal them to move forward. Years later, when they both have recovered, a chance encounter helps them realize they know each other from past and there may be more to this connection. A hint of BL love but not quite there. Still a good decent attempt.

www.Webcam (France)
High tech sexual practices, classical melancholy, love story with images capable of sudden embodiment. Video footage of people chatting on gay hookup websites where you could also project your videos. It's irrelevant today and not sure what was the point that it was trying to even make even when it must have come out in 2006.

Weglopers (Netherlands) [Runaways]
Robert and Frank have a casual sexual relationship. Robert develops feelings for the emotionally distant Frank, despite knowing about his younger boyfriend. Robert's self-destructive behavior intensifies as he tries to win over Frank. Their date offers a glimmer of hope, but Robert must learn to love himself to break the cycle. A very nicely acted and directed short film.

Balbuzards pêcheurs (Switzerland) [Ospreys]
Jean & Michel go on a journey in the Clos du Doubs in search of a rare bird. During their wanderings, the couple crosses seasons at full speed, a certain amount of rivers and above all, ups and downs. A very weird film. I personally didn't get the point of it.

Mon Invité (France) [The Guest]
Alex signed up on the Mister B to become a host. He receives his first guest, Theodore, who is in Paris for professional reasons. When Theodore arrives in Alex's apartment, mutual love bloomed, but Theodore only stays 3 days with Alex. It is a nice story idea but I would stay execution slightly felt a bit amateurish, especially the lead actor (who also happens to be writer/director).

Rooted (Taiwan)
After being rescued by a lifeguard who thought he was drowning, a teenager’s long-restrained desires are brought to light. He feels conflicted and troubled, but takes the first step to what he hopes will be a different ending to his summer vacation. A nicely done short film about teenage desires for same sex.

Mr. Nice Guy & the Lonely Man (Thailand)

Paul can't say no. He goes from one man's arm to other's without knowing what will tomorrow bring. But on Wednesday he will have to look after his 8yo son whom he did not raise and whom he had with Assa, a surgeon older than him. A brilliant one day snapshot of Leo hanging out with his son.

Eating Papaw on the Seashore (Guyana)
A coming-of-age film about two queer Guyanese teenage boys Asim and Hasani, who are navigating their feelings in a homophobic society. Its important understand that still in many parts of the world queer relationships are either laughed at or considered unnatural, so imagine how you young teenagers would navigate and let the other person know about their feelings. It's a simple yet effective film.

Idiot Fish (France)
On the road to holidays, Jimmy and Guillaume replay their first meeting. Jimmy becomes a lost hitchhiker, Guillaume a lonely driver. They will pretend they don't know each other anymore, in order to play to meet and seduce each other again. Until a third player joins the game.  An interesting film for sure and beautiful country side.

But things don't turn out the way he hoped for.

Los vírgenes (Spain) [The Virgins]
When the two actors starring in a short film, titled "The Virgins", leave around at the last minute, a young director will have to act alongside the only other person who knows the script by heart: the boom operator. A very very interestingly shot short film.

Private Lessons (South Korea)
Yeong-il is constantly attached to Jae-hyun, who is constantly on his poetry lectures. Jae-hyun is not interested in poetry, but he doesn't want to miss out on Yeong-il's class. After all, Yeong-il decided to have a private lessons for Jae-hyun, who failed to submit his assignments. A beginning of a beautiful love story.

Promise Of A Wild Love (Brazil)
A queer fantasy about freedom and desire of intensive sensations. After crashing into a party, a young man discovers that this will be his last night. The film started off well but somehow I couldn't comprehend the second half of it when it goes in this weird past/fantasy zone.

L'homme inconnu (Belgium)
Following the success of his first novel, Flemish author Louis is suffering from writer's block. Seeking inspiration from the Côte d'Azur, Louis one day sees a couple, Melanie and Tommy, making love on the beach. It is from this moment on that Louis starts becoming obsessed with Tommy, and distinctions between fact and fiction, reality and fantasy start to crumble under the pressure of writing a new novel. The was a visual stunner.

Auto da fé (Israel)
Amnon's routine is disrupted when he takes care of gay porn star Danny Jokcs' car. The days go by and the vehicle waits for its owner who does not return. Amnon begins to look at the red car and his head fills with fantasies. Based on a play, this was a different film

The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1. Both of them were released after they had informed Shibahara of Aoyama's secret location. Shibahara tortures Seiya's boyfriend leading to Seiya killin

One Summer Night (Korean)

I really wanted to like this film but for non native speakers, these movie leaves a lot to be understood and the way scenes were unfolding in front of me, I wasn't sure many times what was really going on. The story had potential button getting any back story on any of the characters limited my ability to empathize with any of these actors. Film starts with two North Korea military guys Yong Joon and Jae Sung having sex and they are caught red handed and they run. Three years later we see Yong Joon in Seoul leading a very mundane and poor life. He has a boyfriend Tae-Kyu, who is a weird guy. He is carefree, doesn't do any work and is completely emotional and financially dependent on Young Joon. In fact, even Yong Joon will go to any lengths to protect him , fend for him and taking care of him to the extent of even taking up prostitution. Suddenly one day Jae Sung appears in their life again. His motivation is not clear but it is obvious he wants Yong Joon back in his life, who

Ultimate masturbation: Shigoki no yama (Japanese) [The Ultimate Masturbation]

I would never know what was the point behind making this film. Was it supposed to be a comedy, cos it wasn't. It wasn't even porn. It was just a silly attempt at making something absolutely senseless and ridiculous. The story, as well as direction is equally shoddy. You could laugh for having seen something so bad, but I wouldn't call that comedy. An old man runs a camp about gay masturbation. The explanation given is that gays masturbate for pleasure unlike straight men, for whom the act is seen as shame or because they can't find a woman. One day a straight man shows up and wants to join the camp for his thesis. After discussion, he is allowed in. Rules include that you can masturbate together, you can masturbate one another, but there is no fellatio or anal sex. Some students of course breaks rule. The teacher then talks about 2 forms of masturbation which gives ultimate pleasure. He shows one without touching and then refuses to talk of the other. Somehow suddenly,
