No. 1 For You (Taiwanese Series)

A nice cute love story between two ambitious university students forms the crux of this 6 episode 30 minute each story. Its never easy to confuse your love to someone, especially if you fear you can lose them as friends, and this series gives us an interesting perspective of it. After a bit slow two episodes, the series in quite light hearted and a decent fun overall watch owing to some good acting and overall likable characters.

Zhou Shu Yi has always had to be content coming in second his entire life in competitions. Its primarily because of Gao Shi De, who always comes first and is handsome, smart, intelligent and an all-rounder. The duo competed not just in school but now they are enrolled in same university also. This competition is actually though one sided. Gao Shi De has secretly had a crush on Zhou Shu Yi since childhood but because of their competitive nature, the two could never become friends. When a girl breaks Zhou Shu Yi's heart he is hurt and cries his heart out, which gets recorded by Gao Shi De. Later, he uses this video clip to blackmail xx who doesn’t want his friends to see this embarrassing footage of him. The only way. To get out of this is if Zhou Shu Yi can beat him in a competition. The duo are soon forced to spend time together during which they end up becoming good friends. One day when Gao Shi De is confessing his feelings to his doctor cousin about Zhou Shu Yi, he hears it but he is not sure how he should handle that. Slowly Zhou Shu Yi realizes that he also enjoys Gao Shi De's company and before you realize they become a couple. Zhou Shu Yi meets eye's mom and she instantly likes him. Unknown to Zhou Shu Yi, the mother son are soon supposed to go to America for few months but thankfully the couple are string enough to make sure they can handle a long distant relationship

As always lets start with some positives. The production of the show is of a very good quality and the makers have chosen some really handsome male actors. Not just the lead but actually the other 3-4 side characters, especially the doctor were all extremely good looking. Coming back to the two leads, they had amazing chemistry both as friends and lovers. I love their scenes with Gao Shi De's mom and the comfort and ease that you see in their interaction felt very real. And yes, the duo do share a few kisses and thankfully it wasn't awkward at all. Sadly, the show rather ends abruptly. Also, there are plenty of places, where you feel that some story is just starting to develop for side characters and then they are just left in a lurch. We are introduced to Zhou Shu Yi's father which hints of a possible drama but that never happens. I mean that character could have been completely eliminated. Overall the plot was a bit underdeveloped. When you have money and an excellent cast, and you see that the story ends up being the short end, you just feel bad and disappointed. Having said that, the relatively shorter duration and just 6 episodes it was indeed an easy watch. The chemistry of the lead actors makes it worth watching. It may not be the most phenomenal show but somehow something was still pretty good. (6.5/10)

I liked it a lot. I mostly remember the great kiss on the bridge, the funny interaction with the mom, the great chemistry they have. And Gao Shi De is hot. Reading your review makes me want to go and watch it again!

I had high hopes for this Taiwanese series but ultimately dropped it because I found ZSY character so unlikable. Couldn't fathom why anyone would tolerate him let alone have a crush on him. The kiss on the bridge was memorable though.

Looking forward to your thoughts on KinnPorsche and Triage, both still airing.

I did enjoy the moments of the two boys with the mother. Something real and heartwarming about hat scene and of course the famous Bridge kissing scene.

Edward: have you seen the two shows you mentioned? Are they good?

I am still watching both. KinnPorsche had an amazing premiere episode with the best looking production values I have seen from Thailand. I think there is some Chinese money involved since Iqiyi is also airing it. The leads have great chemistry but the writing is all over the place. Triage is from the creators of Manner of Death, with a medical drama/time loop plot which has kept it interesting.

The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1. Both of them were released after they had informed Shibahara of Aoyama's secret location. Shibahara tortures Seiya's boyfriend leading to Seiya killin

One Summer Night (Korean)

I really wanted to like this film but for non native speakers, these movie leaves a lot to be understood and the way scenes were unfolding in front of me, I wasn't sure many times what was really going on. The story had potential button getting any back story on any of the characters limited my ability to empathize with any of these actors. Film starts with two North Korea military guys Yong Joon and Jae Sung having sex and they are caught red handed and they run. Three years later we see Yong Joon in Seoul leading a very mundane and poor life. He has a boyfriend Tae-Kyu, who is a weird guy. He is carefree, doesn't do any work and is completely emotional and financially dependent on Young Joon. In fact, even Yong Joon will go to any lengths to protect him , fend for him and taking care of him to the extent of even taking up prostitution. Suddenly one day Jae Sung appears in their life again. His motivation is not clear but it is obvious he wants Yong Joon back in his life, who

Ultimate masturbation: Shigoki no yama (Japanese) [The Ultimate Masturbation]

I would never know what was the point behind making this film. Was it supposed to be a comedy, cos it wasn't. It wasn't even porn. It was just a silly attempt at making something absolutely senseless and ridiculous. The story, as well as direction is equally shoddy. You could laugh for having seen something so bad, but I wouldn't call that comedy. An old man runs a camp about gay masturbation. The explanation given is that gays masturbate for pleasure unlike straight men, for whom the act is seen as shame or because they can't find a woman. One day a straight man shows up and wants to join the camp for his thesis. After discussion, he is allowed in. Rules include that you can masturbate together, you can masturbate one another, but there is no fellatio or anal sex. Some students of course breaks rule. The teacher then talks about 2 forms of masturbation which gives ultimate pleasure. He shows one without touching and then refuses to talk of the other. Somehow suddenly,
