Boys' Lockdown (Filipino / English) (Web Series)

My third Filipino series based in the time of pandemic and i have to say these are slightly better than Thai ones. These are not over dramatic, thankfully but yes they do have some OTT jokes for no reason but I guess, people enjoy it. This short sweet series is perfect to watch 2 strangers  falling in love despite COVID-19 protocols, the quarantine period, and social distancing. It gives all of us hope that new relationships can work out romantically despite us being stuck at home.

The story is simple. Chen is a cute boy who uploads regular videos of himself online. Key is a huge fan and in fact has a huge crush on him. They both have a chance encounter one day at a grocery story. Not knowing who the other person is since they are both masked, they both feel a weird chemistry with each other. But Chen gets to see who Key is and it turns out that Chen had seen key almost a month ago and since then has been looking for him. Chen mistakenly posts a video online admitting his crush and love for Key and of course he is also happy. As they get to know each other despite the restrictions, challenges and even dangers stemming from the pandemic, something very special starts to blossom between them. In a time when we’re forced to keep apart from each other, does love have the power to connect us?

I am actually quite impressed by this seemingly simple webseries Only 6 episodes barely of 18-20 minutes each, this is an easy watch, with a very string chemistry between the leads. All other characters like Chen's sister and Key's friends and guard add a lot of fun element to the series. The 2 boys portray the feeling of being in love but not being able to be with the person, or touch him or kiss him really really well. It also throws some light on pent up frustrations that people have had during lockdowns. The end was fun where finally they both decide to be together in lockdown and even end the show with a beautiful kiss. There were a few cheesy dialogues here and there but the screenplay was generally natural and realistic. It’s simplicity and ease is what makes it work. Nothing complicated, no crazy characters or back drama.

The series is not trying to be anything else apart from a cute, feel good series and does a very good job of it. It won’t take you up and down emotionally and won’t enthrall you with a deep story but every episode will put a smile on your face. (7/10)

Stricly ok for me. It was a bit too much at times, especially with the recurent slow motion recaps and the supposedly funny jokes that looked more ridiculous than funny. The most interresting part was to see how the pandemics affect everyone (also it was very interresting to see how they deal with it compared to us in Europe). The leads are beautiful, and the kiss was perfect (I want THAT in the upcoming sequel movie of Hello stranger!!!)
Thank you Golu, you got me addicted to filipino web series XD

You are very welcome. But with good, comes bad. I am sure there are some really bad ones also out there, which we will have to endure

Lucky me, I found an amazing blog with a great guy reviewing gay movies and series, so I will avoid the bad ones lol.
I've just started "gaya sa pelikula". So far it's very very good! I'm only at episode 4 out of 8 though, but I think you should see it (it's very short).

I will definitely have to check that out when i get my hands on it
Nice and cute, fresh young actors pretty good at what they are doing, I found it rather decent. Some of these guys hit the gym more regularly than I do...
Lovers all over the world ended up breaking the rules, and it is shown in a very clever manner in the last épisode.
I believe we will endure far worse in terms of BL, this one is worth watching once. Not extraordinary but no major flaw here.

The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1. Both of them were released after they had informed Shibahara of Aoyama's secret location. Shibahara tortures Seiya's boyfriend leading to Seiya killin

One Summer Night (Korean)

I really wanted to like this film but for non native speakers, these movie leaves a lot to be understood and the way scenes were unfolding in front of me, I wasn't sure many times what was really going on. The story had potential button getting any back story on any of the characters limited my ability to empathize with any of these actors. Film starts with two North Korea military guys Yong Joon and Jae Sung having sex and they are caught red handed and they run. Three years later we see Yong Joon in Seoul leading a very mundane and poor life. He has a boyfriend Tae-Kyu, who is a weird guy. He is carefree, doesn't do any work and is completely emotional and financially dependent on Young Joon. In fact, even Yong Joon will go to any lengths to protect him , fend for him and taking care of him to the extent of even taking up prostitution. Suddenly one day Jae Sung appears in their life again. His motivation is not clear but it is obvious he wants Yong Joon back in his life, who

Ultimate masturbation: Shigoki no yama (Japanese) [The Ultimate Masturbation]

I would never know what was the point behind making this film. Was it supposed to be a comedy, cos it wasn't. It wasn't even porn. It was just a silly attempt at making something absolutely senseless and ridiculous. The story, as well as direction is equally shoddy. You could laugh for having seen something so bad, but I wouldn't call that comedy. An old man runs a camp about gay masturbation. The explanation given is that gays masturbate for pleasure unlike straight men, for whom the act is seen as shame or because they can't find a woman. One day a straight man shows up and wants to join the camp for his thesis. After discussion, he is allowed in. Rules include that you can masturbate together, you can masturbate one another, but there is no fellatio or anal sex. Some students of course breaks rule. The teacher then talks about 2 forms of masturbation which gives ultimate pleasure. He shows one without touching and then refuses to talk of the other. Somehow suddenly,
