The Canadian web series Cam Boy is back for a second season, and I'm a bit late getting to it. While the first season really stuck to Aston’s story and his struggle to make ends meet, this season spreads things out much more. Across six episodes, the show gives us a bunch of mini-stories about different guys in the industry, while still showing us how things are moving along for Aston. Like I said, there are about 21 or 22 tiny stories packed into these six episodes. Aston is now in a relationship with the handyman from the first season, but he’s still working as a cam boy. One day, he accidentally starts streaming a live sex show with his boyfriend. He realizes what's happening halfway through, but he doesn't stop because he sees the money pouring in. When the boyfriend finds out, he’s furious and walks out on him. Then we have Riley, another guy who usually sells a "boyfriend experience" to his viewers. Things get creepy when one of his clients just shows up a...
TharnType was definitely one of the better series that I have seen and the chemistry the couple shared was nice. I also enjoyed the constant bickering of them knowing that they are both very much in love with each other. The series had a good and happy ending, so I was a bit surprised when the makers came up with this special episode. But then, why not !
The hour and a half long episode starts with a quick recap of some of the beautiful moments of the series. We are now 3 years in future and the couple is still very much in love. We see how Type's best friend is still geeky and is now football team captain. We see Tar has come back from France and is very much in control of his life. And of course Tharn and Type and really happy in their relationship. The primary focus this time is on Type's parents and what happened 3 years ago when Type and Tharn travelled south to meet his family. of course Type's father is very critical and unhappy of their relationship but the mother is very supportive. Eventually they manage to spend the holiday together and somehow Type's fathers attitude still haunts Tharn (in a funny way though). The series ends with the loving couple hoping that eventually his parents will come around and nothing now can break them as a couple.
We had a glimpse of Type's parents in the series , but this time it is mostly focused on them. Type is ready to tell his parents and come out. Also the couple is not messing around in making it clear and obvious who is the "husband" and who is the "wife". The father's reactions were too funny. He was amazing and comical and the mom was so sweet and caring. It was funny when Tharn says to Type that now he understands where his behavior comes from (pointing to his father). He even hints that he would have been ok, if Type was top, but since Tharn is the husband, he will never accept this. Even though these kind of conversations are funny, but boxing anyone as either husband or wife goes against the whole point of being gay IMO. One other thing I was happy about was that Type goes and apologizes to his best childhood friend for reacting negatively to him being gay. Then there were random new characters introduced, a potential gay couple, which was unnecessary, unless a new series is going to take their story forward. We do see a lot of kissing scenes between Type and Tharn. We also get moments were they meet up with friends and they’re friends being supportive in their relationship awesome and wholesome.
Overall this special was nothing great. Almost a continuity from series. had some funny moments and other random ones. (5.5/10)
