So, about a decade ago, there were these five movies that made up the whole Takumi-kun series. Now, the creators have come back with a six-episode show, with each part running about 25 minutes. I'm guessing they wanted to introduce a newer generation of BL fans to this world, but honestly, it backfired. The whole thing feels incredibly dated, like it’s completely out of touch with how modern BL shows are made today. Between a cast that’s way too crowded and a mountain of different couples to keep track of, the storytelling is just a total train wreck that doesn't make a lick of sense. The whole thing takes place at an all-boys boarding school. You’ve got Gii, who just moved back from the States and is the son of a super wealthy CEO, and he's roommates with Takumi. Right from the very first episode, Gii is basically obsessed, taking every chance he gets to shout his feelings from the rooftops. Takumi is really shy and has no clue how to handle all that heat, so he just doe...
Here we go. And yet another ones of those low budget, cringe acting, paper thin plot and a story that should not hav been made in the first place. I don't know the name of this production company, but they seem to have a template: Bring in a few good looking boys, 2-3 over the top trans actors, a few shirtless scenes, an emotional conflict and drama and just weave a story around that. Most importantly everything has to be shot in some resort. Sitting for these 6 episodes of about 20 minutes each was itself torture.
Evo loves his boyfriend , who is full of himself and has been cheating on him with a girl. Evo's friend Joshua loves him a lot but Eva never sees him this way. Now heartbroken, he decides to take a break, go on holiday and get his life back in order. He thinks that he will try to open his heart for Joshua when he is back. But at the holiday place, he finds an attractive. Young man and fuck his heartbreak, the firstling he does is start stalking him. He is infatuated by his beauty. Turns out this new guy is also heartbroken ever since his girlfriend ditched him on their wedding day. Evo sees hope for himself , but the new guy is not gay. At the end of holiday, Evo goes back to Joshua hoping that he can start love with I'm, but turns out that the guy from holiday is back in his life and now wants him too. Confused between two boys, Evo decides to just fly solo for sometime.
I mean, how silly and dumb can a screenplay and direction be. The right ideas, when not executed well are terrible and can look atrocious. The characters are flat and devoid of any emotion at all. They are completely wooden and awful. Some of these production houses continue to portray these trans characters still in a stereotypical way for jokes, which in today's time is just unacceptable. Even from a story perspective, you Ould think that a heartbroken Evo went to take a break, but first thing he notices is a hot guy (who wasn't even hot) shirtless and starts drooling over him and stalking in. I mean, and you want us to believe that this guys is heartbroken. The supposedly hot guy from the holiday also suddenly has feelings for Eva after spending an evening with him. Like seriously, what is going on. These people change emotions more frequent that people change clothes. There is absolutely no sense of timing. The production quality was ok and the resort was beautiful but when you have bad editing, direction and acting; you know that almost nothing can salvage this. Bad and avoidable. Also, don't ask me why the title of the show!! Cos I would like to know that myself. (2/10)
