Apparently this vertical drama got really popular when it was released. Made up of short, mobile-friendly episodes, this show follows Lucas and Prince Nicholas as they move from school rivalry to friendship and then to something far more complicated. The pair navigate their romance amid school life and cultural differences, while trying to keep their connection a secret.
The story is simple and straightforward. Prince Nicholas joins college and in a few months he is supposed to be crowned king. As per the queen's instructions he needs to marry Alex who is daughter of a big businessman. Since his arrival is all pomp and show, a guy in college Lucas gets annoyed with this and when he hears about Nicholas' plan about Alex, he decides to step in since Alex is his best friend, The two start ogg on a enemy kind note but as you would expect, one scene after other, they slowly start to feel emotions in each other's presence that they did not expect. Meanwhile press is buzzing with rumors that prince maybe gay and to keep up appearances the prince needs to ignore Lucas multiple times. When both of them had enough and they cannot control they soon become friends to lovers confessing their love and how they feel. But it is not so easy for Prince Nicholas given his responsibility and fact that no one would accept a gay prince. His mother tries to do everything to keep the two separate. The villain is Prince's uncle who keeps feeding stories to press about Nicholas' sexuality so that he could in turn become the king. The mother's love eventually gives in and she appoints Lucas as Prince's bodyguard so that they can be together. Eventually prince openly comes out gay on his coronation day and the people accept him there by sealing love between a prince and a commoner.
Story is nice, but as you would expect, the budget of these shows is quiet limited so you need to take everything presented in front of you of you with a pinch of salt in terms of execution and overacting (almost theatrical). Yes, the two leads are gorgeous and their chemistry is quite god. And we can three full on sexual bedroom kinda scenes which keeps the viewers glued. Yes, a lot of scenes scream cringe, but by now if you have been watching these vertical gay content, you should expect it and not be surprised. Most of us are now watching these shows for eye candy and almost in a thirst trap mode. I can't say much about the acting because these leads would need a proper show/film to really show off if they are good. Shows like this need them to look good and act OTT and they both did that well. It helps they are both gorgeous looking. (5/10)
