A lesbian couple proposes to a friend gay couple to have a baby between the four through a fertility treatment. The thing gets complicated when they begin to realize the ridiculous problems that the situation entails and are in the uncomfortable situation of choosing which of the two men will be the sperm donor. This was a light hearted comedy and watchable.
Two weeks before graduating, PNP trainee Elijah is assigned to watch over Arvin, a law student and part-time tour guide who was recently exposed to a positive case of COVID-19. The story of a companionship that blooms in the middle of isolation and fear of death and disease, of self-discovery, of a different kind of love. A blossoming love in the specter of doubt, sickness and death. Decent.
In a world where identity is a journey of self-discovery and societal acceptance, individuals fight for freedom against cultural and legal obstacles. However, it seems that today the possibilities have multiplied for each individual to "be" what they desire and feel deep down. For this reason we must continue to dialogue, ask questions, seek constant comparison with what is happening around us. Told in a drama style using three actors, the film questions the past to shed a light n present. I didn't think much of the film.
Hopeless romantic Carlos asks his boyfriend, Tyler if he wants kids but he receives a flat-out no. Upset about his relationship ending, his best friend Amal attempts to uplift his spirits by inviting him to the party of the night. Upon arrival, a mysterious person sticks out of the crowd altering Carlos' perspective. Sweet decent film.
After years of “therapy", Johannes hopes to finally be cured of his gayness and marries Marie from his community. But the wedding turns into a disaster, during which Johannes finally realizes that it is not he who needs healing. Using a found footage aesthetic, the film crafts a painfully funny family comedy that also brilliantly skewers the entire notion of conversion therapy.
A timid college student, Danny comes face to face with overcoming childhood trauma once his sister comes to town for the holidays. This one was odd !!
Why Did You Invite Me To Your Wedding (USA)
When Kevin gets a bizarre invitation out of the blue from an old friend, he’s met with tumultuous feelings of past love, heartbreak, and grief. The film explores the complicated tentativeness of queer desire, and the clash between these emotions and his cherished memories. At just 4 min duration, I thought the film needed to go deeper. As is was, I didn't appreciate what it was trying to say.
In the midst of a storm on a desolate strip of California’s lost coast, Theo spots a young shivering stranger named Connor on the side of the road and brings him back to his home for shelter. While they wait for the storm to pass, they begin to uncover each other's past wounds, embarking on a journey of mutual discovery and vulnerability. The film serves as a universal reflection on the human condition, inviting viewers to contemplate the profound longing to find one’s place in the world.
This film is a captivating poetry video that beautifully captures the powerful and emotional first-time experiences of young black gay boys' first love-making experience with safety without shame after he meets another guy at a dance club. The film is set in New York and might actually make more sense in other areas tbh.
A Jordanian man must find a way to tell his childhood friend and first love the truth about what happened twenty years ago, when a single moment changed both their lives. When he can’t find the words, the conversation repeats, becoming increasingly surreal until he loses control. This was an interestingly done film.
Jakov invites his old friend Petar, who lives abroad, to be the godfather at his daughter's baptism. His arrival awakens deeply suppressed memories of their relationship, and Petar fails to resist his temptation and secretly tries to reach Jakov, who's aware that he has taken a false identity in order to assimilate into the milieu. Short in black and white, this was a decent watch.
‘The Last Post Office’ is a fairytale with an evil twist. On the edge of Bangladesh, cradled between mountains and water, stands a post office-the only mark of civilization. This post office has a notorious reputation. People who work here, disappear. The Last Post Office tells an allegorical tale of two men who work in this post office, two men who are also in love with each other. An interesting unique story but could have used a bit more detailing out. Happy to see a gay short film from Bangladesh.
Mateo goes through a confused homosexual and psychic awakening. The spirit of his mother, tries to say goodbye. At the same time, Mateo establishes a bizarre relationship with the spirit of Enrique, who has just committed suicide. This was a bizarre and confusing film.
A professor living in a little community after the rest of his boyfriend. The owner of the little town shop has a proposition to him. He accepts and the result is just impressive to magic. Its basic source of seduction is the honest perspective about self acceptance. Came out in 2016, I didn't like this film at all.
This film delves into the mind of a gay protagonist as he navigates through a surreal and introspective journey over the course of one night in a hotel. Set in a mysterious hotel, our hero finds himself strolling through its timeless corridors, each room representing a fragment of his past relationships and encounters. As the night unfolds, he encounters familiar faces and pivotal figures from his life, each serving as a haunting reminder of his experiences and emotions. An extremely enigmatic odd film IMO.
