This was such a bad film. The version I saw had bad subtitles, but I bet you that even if they were good, my views on this film would not have changed. This is a prime example of the makers trying to make a very niche indie gay film, but it is so pertain plot, so full of over the top drama, bad acting and bad direction and just all around a bad bad feeling.
Francesco is a 4o year old man who lives with his sister after their parent's death. During covid he finds out that his company has closed so he now needs to find a new job. After getting many multiple rejections because of his age (bizarre!), one of his friend gives him an idea to become a male prostitute. Horrified by the idea, he eventually gives in when he needs money. He tells his sister and neighbours lie that he has gotten work in a hotel. One day one of the clients kisses him on lips and that changes Francesco. He suddenly feels a sense of love. Next thing you know this client is taking out Francesco for dates and they are getting to know one another. We go for multiple dates with them while exploring various spots in Rome. There is some over bearing nonsense drama also between them when this client tries to hookup with another prostitute. By this time, I had lost any interest in the film at all because it was just terrible. Anyway, the film ends with these two folks getting married in company of friends and dear one.
I can't tell you how bad this film was. The acting was atrocious. The actor playing Francesco was so hyper in al scenes going on and on rambling and talking to his dead mother; it was almost embarrassing to watch such a poor performance. The forced drama, horrible plot etc cannot just be ignored. I bet the worst of soap Pera drama are probably better than this film. The fact that he did n't get a job because he was 40 was just random. 40 is not old at all. And if he is old to get a job, how the hell is he qualified to be a gay prostitute where it is all about age and looks. The film just baffles me at all points. The film started with how it has been to like 10 different film festivals. I really feel bad for people who actually paid to see this film. This film should just not exists. It is a bad fruit in everyone's biodata who is remotely associated with the film. (0/10)
