So, this whole series wasn't a gay series but I managed to see only the entire gay storyline of this series which in total was over an hour long. This is apparently one of the first Korean dramas to openly have a gay storyline, although few films that shown this before. I wont be able to comment on the entire storyline but watching just the gay storyline was quite enjoyable by itself.
Joo Won-suk and his 3 siblings live together. He is extremely handsome, almost a playboy and runs an elite gay club in the city. One day an average university student Ho-dol comes to the bar and Joo Won-suk asks him to leave because he is very average looking and doesn't belong there. Incidentally Ho-dol gets hired as a private tutor for his youngest brother by his sister who hates good looking men. Ho-dol is a very shy, reserved student who is forced to come out by one of his classmates who likes Joo Won-suk. This shatters Ho-dols life and things take a turn here. Joo Won-suk start scaring for Ho-dol including giving him confidence to accept his sexuality and be brave and honest about it. In fact we see realize that Joo Won-suk may even have feelings for Ho-dol and gets jealous when Ho-dol gets attention by others. Eventually Ho-dols father gets to meet Joo Won-suk and they are together as a couple.
There were a lot of moments in this storyline that were heartwarming. The way Joo Won-suk comes to Ho-dol's rescue after he has been outed was nicely done without being overdramatic. We have seen these extremely handsome guys struggle for love because they never know if someone is with them for their looks or for the person that they are and in this case, you realize that the love that is slowly developing between the two men is real and is there to stay. We are told struggles that Joo Won-suk went through when he came out to his parents and he will be there with Ho-dol to make sure he doesn't have to go through same situation. There were side stories of the other siblings that were not very clear. The 2 guys acted really well and keep your attention. While reading more about the series I read that the actor who played Joo Won-suk passed away and the cause of his death was never made public. I am shocked and I hope his soul rests in peace.
This was the first time, I saw only a particular storyline (in this case a gay-storyline) of an entire series. I was always worried whether the whole storyline would make sense or not. I was wrong. This wasn't as bad to watch at all. (5.5/10)
