This movie uses the huge topic of immigration to dive into deep issues like race and class, though the heart of the story is really about sexuality. It uses a pretty unique style where it doesn't just tell you everything upfront. Instead, it peels back layers like an onion, so you slowly start to get why the characters are doing what they’re doing. I honestly loved this film; it’s very subtle and nothing feels over the top. The emotions and the way things play out feel very much in sync with what’s happening in the world today. The story kicks off in Iran, where a man named Reza is getting married even though he’s secretly gay. He gets caught with his male partner and has to run for his life, but sadly his partner is killed. The movie then jumps to Montreal, where Reza is hiding from the authorities in a church basement. Thirst (UK)
A young man delivers a stream of monologue with his wish list of the urban gay hook up life and dreams of his ideal future with the man of his dreams. Can gay men really overcome their internalized shame, when what they want is different from what they pretend!

According To Mateo (Spain)
This is a dark depiction of deep sexual desires, although its a bit unclear at times. Mateo and his boyfriend bring home a guy but Mateo leaves them both to go with another guy on street to have a more darker and harder sexual encounter which he is not getting at home.

Hardcore (Israel)
An encounter between two Israeli men and a German tourist, where they find themselves way above their head as he asks them to engage in extreme fetishes with him. Partly funny yet dark, snappy and definitely not sexy, this is a sarcastic exposé of dark sexual desires.

Beast (Sweden)
A young reclusive man meets someone he falls in love with, but as they become closer, the more scared he is for his secret to be revealed: why he has to live alone. A subtle-fantasy horror, where we sort of only know what may happen because of the title of the film.

Petit Ami (Belgium)
An encounter between a young sex worker and an enigmatic older man at a seedy motel but they connect at some level. This story of a fleeting connection between two men is a moving reminder that we can find solace and human intimacy in the most unusual of circumstances.

Skai Blue (Belgium)
Story about a man who meets an asylum seeker from Cameroon, we see the difficulty of gaining asylum in Europe for LGBT people through the eyes of a Belgian man who just wants his lover to stay.

The films are dark as the title suggests and none of them is boring. They make for a decent watch.

Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. The film may not be the best, but it does have a noble intention to remind everyone of the evil affects of drugs and combining that with sex. Ah Zhe is in a happy relationship with his influencer boyfriend. On his partner's birthday, they end up going to a party, which interestingly is being hosted at a drug dealer's house and this is where for the first time he is exposed to the world of drugs. Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground.
