Zecji Nasip (Croatian) Sandbag Dam

This indie film is a really powerful look at how a community can suffocate you and the hidden corners young people have to find just to be themselves in so many European towns, even with all the progress we've seen lately. The whole story plays out while the town is bracing for a massive, raging flood, and you just can't shake the feeling that some kind of intense reckoning or unavoidable doom is headed their way. To be honest, I didn't go in with super high expectations, but the way it’s put together makes it a seriously compelling watch. Plus, it’s not every day you get to see an LGBT-themed movie coming out of Croatia! The story follows Marko, a popular 18-year-old kid who seems to have it all—he’s got a girlfriend, he’s a competitive arm wrestler, and he’s well-liked at school. When he isn't in class, he’s usually hanging out with his brother, who has a disability, or helping his mom out in her greenhouse. Everything gets flipped upside down when a guy named Slaven ...

The Outs: Season 2 (Web Series)

I was so so so happy when I got to see the season 2 of this web series. I can’t believe I did not even know that it was under production. Having loved the season one, you can’t even imagine the excitement I had to watch the season 2, because I expected nothing but the best. This season may not be as good as season 1, but still this is a pretty darn good sequel where it returns from where the characters were left. And yes, I will continue to want more seasons and sequels to this web series.

Season 1 ended with Oona’s blog picking up, Jack & Mitchell were finally starting to work on their friendship and Paul was getting into a grad school. Time has passed and the stories continue. Paul and Jack are string to make their long distance relationship work by opening it up. Jack has been meeting few people here and there and as always is quite unsure about what’s happening between him and Paul (Scruffy from season one and we find out his name in this season). Mitchell has a new boyfriend, a British chef, whom he loves and adores but he relationship is still at a very early stages. Oona is now hugely successful mean and bitchy blogger and has written a few books. She is screwing her publisher and maybe the is the guy who would finally help her also realise that she is also capable of loving. Her friendship with Mitchell is still as strong as ever. We witness the growth of the characters but the series ends with Mitchell having broken up with his chef boyfriend, Paul and Jack still evaluating because Jack can’t “do this” anymore and Oona kicks her flourishing career because she won’t let people take her for granted. Also she has now met a man who likes her for who she is.

As I mentioned above, all my expectations were pretty much met by this whole season. It was a perfect season with the stories being moved in exactly the right direction. The cast is perfect and as actors they are still amazing and natural to the core. They can all be your next door neighbours and you could be watching them in real life. Jack is still the best and I really liked his chemistry with Paul. Interestingly this time, its the director/actor Mitchell who fell a bit short of expectations. He was too good in season one but maybe one mark less as an actor in the sequel. Doesn’t take away the credit from him on how excellent writer/director he is. As expected, i missed my New York city very much after watching the show and I can’t wait to return back. The show made me really nostalgic having shot at some of my fav places (including Taim restaurant, which is round the corner from where I lived). A few more characters are introduced on the side but the core of the story remains focussing on topics of friendship, happiness, and feeling lost when things just aren’t working anymore. Its the situations that viewers can definitely relate to. I , for once, can definitely relate to every single character.

Thank you so much for bring back the show with the new season. I have not been excited about watching anything in a while now. I still love this show. Highly recommend it. (8/10)

but a quick search online tells me that it is like 150 episodes and 10 plus seasons. It is going to take me forever to catch up on a daily soap :(

This dates back to 2010, but I only discovered the documentary "Three" on youtube a few days ago. Unfortunately the dialog is overlaid with a Russian (I think) commentary that makes understanding the boys impossible.

I read your 2010 review and your 2011 reference to torrents, but I'm wondering if a better video (with an understandable audio or subtitles) has emerged since then. I've searched google, Amazon and Ebay, but they only refer to the Roffman book (or the Russian youtube video).

Hoping you can shed some light....

To be honest, I am not really sure. I follow a specific website and watch films via them. Sorry I can't be of much help.

Sei no Gekiyaku (Japanese) [Dangerous Drugs of Sex]

Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. Unknown to him, he is saved by mysterious man Yoda Ryoji, and he wakes up finding himself tied up in leather and belts in a very BDSM setting. This mysterious saver soo...

Drug Shore (Chinese)

Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. The film may not be the best, but it does have a noble intention to remind everyone of the evil affects of drugs and combining that with sex. Ah Zhe is in a happy relationship with his influencer boyfriend. On his partner's birthday, they end up going to a party, which interestingly is being hosted at a drug dealer's house and this is where for the first time he is exposed to the world of drugs. The duo somehow do it just enough and come back home but next day Ah She gets invited by the dealer Xiao Fei for a meal. The dealer has a soft corner for Ah Zhe, but before anyone realizes, Ah Zhe's life spirals out of control when slowly he starts doing more and more drugs, ...

The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1. Both of them were released after they had informed Shibahara of Aoyama's secret location. Shibahara tortures Seiya's boyfriend leading to Seiya killin...
