Love In The moonlight (Thai Series)

This Thai BL is set in the 1960s, and while it's a love story at its heart, it feels a lot more pure and honest than most. It really captures that difficult, long battle of fighting to love who you want and giving your heart to the person you actually choose. It shows how winning that fight usually means getting hurt along the way. The show is a real slow-burn romance that mixes trust and betrayal with some pretty intense emotional moments. When you add in the sneaky relatives, the political backstabbing, and a suspiciously high number of evil adults, the show becomes a pretty long watch. It's 12 episodes that are about an hour each, and the very last one runs for almost two hours. The story takes place in the 60s when the political regime is changing, and a military leader wants to take all the property away from the kings and princely families. Since he doesn't have another choice, the king sends his son, Prince Saenkaew, to Bangkok to stay at the home of one of his close...

La Mala Educación (Spain) [Bad Education]

Pedro Almodóvar movies are always to watch out for. The way he blends two different storylines with the same actors, is worth watching. Though this film of his is a little different from others. The theme (child abuse) is darker. It is going to be had to review the film because there are so many twists and turns and it is a great work of art. Enrique is a Spanish filmmaker who is having trouble settling on a new project when he's approached by Ignacio Rodriguez, who was his close friend when they were schoolboys. Enrique, who fell in love for the first time with Rodriguez, barely recognizes the man as his former crush, but agrees to read the short story he's written. The tale turns out to be an semi-autobiographical account of their days in a Catholic boarding school, in which a cross-dressing night-club performer named Zahara (also played by Ignacio) hooks up with a man named Enrique, who turns out to have been his first lover when he was a student. Recalling their school days, Zahara tracks down Father Manolo, one of his teachers from school with pedophilic tendencies, and threatens to expose the priest's attempts to seduce him and ruin his relationship with Enrique years ago. Enrique decides to use the story as the basis for his next film, and Rodriguez, an out-of-work actor, makes it clear he's eager to play Zahara. However, Enrique isn't certain if Rodriguez is the right actor for the role, or if he's even the man he claims to be. An angry conflict with Rodriguez leads Goded back to the real Ignacio's mother where he finds out that real Ignacio has been dead for four years and that the man who came to his office is really Ignacio's younger brother, Juan. When Father Manuel visits the set . he tells a bitter truth that shocks Enrique. Real Ignacio hd become a trasnvestite and Manuel and Juan had started a relationship. After a point they both wanted him dead and it was Juan who overdosed Ignacio. In the epilogue, it is mentioned that Enrique releases his film later which achieves great success. Despite the grief and guilt of his brother, Juan also achieves success, and marries a woman. Manuel dies in a car accident (caused by Juan and thus fulfilling his promise made earlier in the film). The brooding drama of past demons returning to the present, about lost love, lost faith, and mistaken identity makes for a great cinema piece. The twists and turns that the plot offers is awesome. There is not a minute where the viewer knows exactly what is going to happen next and thats the beauty of the film. All the actors are very very good at what they do in the film. They are so believable. Please watch it. I am going to find more Almodóvar movies and feast on them. (8/10)

Drug Shore (Chinese)

Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. The film may not be the best, but it does have a noble intention to remind everyone of the evil affects of drugs and combining that with sex. Ah Zhe is in a happy relationship with his influencer boyfriend. On his partner's birthday, they end up going to a party, which interestingly is being hosted at a drug dealer's house and this is where for the first time he is exposed to the world of drugs. The duo somehow do it just enough and come back home but next day Ah She gets invited by the dealer Xiao Fei for a meal. The dealer has a soft corner for Ah Zhe, but before anyone realizes, Ah Zhe's life spirals out of control when slowly he starts doing more and more drugs, ...

Sei no Gekiyaku (Japanese) [Dangerous Drugs of Sex]

Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. Unknown to him, he is saved by mysterious man Yoda Ryoji, and he wakes up finding himself tied up in leather and belts in a very BDSM setting. This mysterious saver soo...

The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1. Both of them were released after they had informed Shibahara of Aoyama's secret location. Shibahara tortures Seiya's boyfriend leading to Seiya killin...
