Our House Party (Japanese)

I'm guessing the whole point of this movie was to show a realistic "slice of life" look at gay men in Tokyo and how they connect with each other. The idea behind it is actually pretty interesting, but the film spends a good 35 to 40 minutes just setting up the characters. The problem is it feels so disjointed that you start wondering why they bothered giving these people backstories when those details are never mentioned again later on! The story kicks off by introducing us to Tomayo, a student in his early 20s who is hanging out with two close friends. He meets a gay bar owner who takes an interest in him right away, which basically starts Tomayo’s journey of figuring out his own sexuality. Then we meet an 18-year-old guy who is more on the effeminate side; he’s desperate to find love and be in a relationship, but he keeps getting rejected. Café com Leite (Brazil - Portugese) [You, Me & Him] (Short film)

I am starting to like this whole concept of short movies. Sometimes they turn out to be better stories maybe because of the sheer fact that the director doesn't try to stretch out things beyond a certain point.

Danilo and Marcus are boyfriends and one day Danilo asks Marcus to move in with him as soon as he leaves his parents house. Wen he reaches home, his parents are dead and he nw has the sole responsibility of his younger brother Lucas. It seems Danilo had no idea about what Lucas likes and what he doesn't. He starts trying his best to be a father figure to him. Now that he has so much responsibility, he spends more time with Lucas and less time with Marcus. Marcos occasionally joins Danilo and Lucas but always feel that Lucas comes in between them though he understands the intentions of the small kid. One day Marcos picks up Lucas from chool and they chi chat. Lucas tells him that he likes Marcos and he knows he is Danilo's boyfriend. Earlier Danilo and Marcos had planned to go for a holiday but now because of Lucas Danilo cant go. In the end, Marcos decides to go by himself and the film ends with Lucas and Danilo bonding.

I thought the whole premise of the film was very interesting. How sudden responsibilities can make you grow up. Sometimes there are certain things that you take for granted and family is so much important. All 3 characters in the film grow to and get used to the new situation and maybe hopefully start to live together. I personally liked bonding scenes between Danilo and his young brother Lucas.

Another one of the good short film. (7/10)

Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. The film may not be the best, but it does have a noble intention to remind everyone of the evil affects of drugs and combining that with sex. Ah Zhe is in a happy relationship with his influencer boyfriend. On his partner's birthday, they end up going to a party, which interestingly is being hosted at a drug dealer's house and this is where for the first time he is exposed to the world of drugs. The duo somehow do it just enough and come back home but next day Ah She gets invited by the dealer Xiao Fei for a meal. The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1.
