Marco Berger has come out with another movie that’s really beautiful and sexy, but it’s definitely not like the ones he usually makes where guys are just full of sexual tension. This one is filmed in black-and-white and looks amazing. The director found a really weird way to show how humans connect and how sexuality works by using a "man as a dog" idea. It’s a pretty strange but interesting movie that makes you think. The story takes place in a world that’s parallel to ours, where two straight couples are on vacation on an island. You see two guys on a boat calling out to someone, and then this naked, lonely, and really good-looking guy shows up. In this dreamy kind of world, the group calls him a "man," but he basically acts like a pet dog. In this setup, the word "men" refers to naked male humans that people own as pets, just like we own dogs. People are scared of stray men just like they're scared of stray dogs. Love and Death on Long Island (UK/Canada)

First of all I should make one thing clear. This is not a gay themed movie. There are just hints of the lead character idolizing a screen actor but thats about it. This does not qualify this movie to be a gay based movie. Nothing against the movie, but when I wanna see a gay themed movie, I expect something more and not just whats shown in the movie.

Giles, a Brit writer and a widower does not like anything modern including television. One night he accidentally get locked out and ends up watching a movie. He mistakenly goes to the wrong screen and is about to leave the crap teen flick till he sees this young actor Ronnie Bostock who immediately strikes his fantasy. From here starts the journey of Giles love and almost obsession towards Ronnie that makes him watch all his movies and travel to Long Island near New York. He plans all his moves and ends up meeting the actor through his girlfriend and befriends them pretending to be his biggest fan who has seen all his movies. Things are fine until one day he tests Ronnie's patience and declares his love for him when Ronnie is about to go to LA for his shoot. Ronnie does not take this positively and the movie ends up with Giles going back to London and Ronnie still living with his fiance.

The movie has some decent performances with some funny scenes where they show Giles getting used to all the modern electronics and the way he plans the entire thing to meet Ronnie. I particularly didn't enjoy the movie very much mostly because I was expecting something more surreal and touching after reading the movie title.

I might have liked it if I saw it as yet another Hollywood movie and not as a gay themed movie. (4/10)

I am not sure I really understood this movie sure the older dude fell for the younger dude but like why!? I did not find his acting at all that interesting in any of the movies Giles watched. It was an okay movie sorta but not really sure where the person wanted the story to go seeing as how no one was really happy at the end. At least thats what I felt no one was happy. LOL! Yes the old man being brought into the 20th century was really funny to watch! Avoid this film there are others out there to see besides this mess.

Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground.
