Nunca Vas a Estar Solo (Spanish) [You'll Never Be Alone]

I think the idea behind this movie was really interesting and different. It tells the story of a brutal attack on a gay man in Chile, which is a very serious subject, similar to the Matthew Shepard case in the US. However, it feels like the people who made the film weren't quite sure how to tell the story. The movie wanders around a lot, and many scenes are confusing because it's hard to tell what point the director is trying to make. The first part of the movie was actually quite good and I was excited to see where it went, but then it completely changes. It spends way too much time showing the dad being sad and frustrated, and the most annoying part is that the movie doesn't really have an ending or any answers. The story is about a teenager named Pablo who is around 17 or 18. He lives with his dad, Juan, who is a single father and always busy with work. Pablo loves to dance, hangs out with his best friend who is a lesbian, and is practicing for a drag show audition. When...

Together With Me (Thai Series)

Like most Tai BL series, this one also takes its own sweet time to come to the point. You see te characters going back and fort constantly and there never seems to be an agreement or a solution and then a lot happens in the last 2 episodes. Korn and Knock form the core couple of this series but you cannot ignore 2 other couples here: Farm & Bright and Kavitra & Phu.

One day at Amphawa, Knock, a young engineering student wakes up to a shock, he is naked next to his childhood best friend, Korn, due to drunkenness and hormones. After fighting and arguing, Korn and Knock agree to keep this as a secret since Knock has been dating a girl Pleng. Korn, is gay and totally smitten by Knock and wants him in his life but Knock can't make up is mind. e wants Korn next to him, occasionally sex also but just doesn't have the balls to tell Pleng. Korn's best friend Yihwa decides to take matters in her own hand to bring the couple together. It turns out Plern has been all along playing around with Knock and is also seeing another guy. She just wants to bring Korn down. Korn and Knock have a good friend circle. We also have the shy boy Farm, who suddenly develops feelings for Dr Bright when he visits him. Bright happens to be a player and lets Farm know about it. Still Farm decides to continue with bright because he really loves him. Their ending is not too pleasant. And finally we have Phu, a band singer who is pursuing their female lecturer who happens to be Korn's sister. Of course because of the age gap and student-teacher relationship they are met wit eyeballs. Back to Korn & Knock, once after many episodes have passed, Yihwa succeeds in exposing Plern's true intentions and her true face. As you can expect, after a lot of fights and cute moments together, the 2 boys confess their love eventually.

The series is a total of 13 episodes with an average span of 50 minutes each, so you can imagine it takes up a long time to sit through it. Thankfully its not bad at all. Yes, the story is a bit cliche of a gay man falling for his straight best mate. Oddly, Knock cannot just seem to make up is mind. Initially he doesn't want to lose his best friend, then he doesn't want to upset his girlfriend, then he is 2 timing bot of them. You don't even know if he is really in love wit anyone at all. Or just wants to go on because the other person wants to. Korn tries his best to show Knock his point of view, but that man is literally dumb. he just doesn't know what he wants. He wants best of both worlds. Having said that, both the boys are beautiful and have ripped bodies to die for. Yum!! Yihwa is the only sorted person wit some iota of brain in er. She is the only one who asks right questions, makes them both think of love and logic and she is the one instrumental is unmasking Pleng. Otherwise the boys had just given up. Talking of Pleng, my god, what an evil character. Things and lengths she will go to get her boyfriend. I understand you want to fight for your love but she breaks all rules that were ever there. I couldn't care less for Kavitra & Phu's story line. That totally kept breaking down the flow of story in my opinion. We can totally get away from all their scenes altogether and the series will be even more charming and not lose its essence. Farm and Brighht made an interesting couple. But what I dont understand why they were with each other. Bright sleeps around with just about anyone, so why does he want Farm. I understand Farm is naive and sees something charming in Bright. Their is a bit sad, when totally jaded in love ends up becoming a sex player like Bright. Most of the secondary characters have all been given interesting character graphs, that helps. By the way, whats up with all of them hanging out in their college uniform all the time. So annoying after a while. The group dynamics was good, but I am getting tired of every character giving their reaction a second too late time after time.

In the end, I feel they tried to fit too much in and unfortunately sacrificed Bright and Farm’s story-line as a result. It would have been much better to have done two separate series. This gets added to the list of decent shows in Thai BL category. I wish someone just makes an edited version of it, because I have already forgotten the number of time Knock keeps shuttling between wanting to be wit Korn or not. (6.5/10)

Season 2 was much better in my opinion. +1 for Korn and Knock although the second one needs more acting lessons. If not for the cute face and body, there's room for improvement and the script did not help at all. Pretty decent show when you can fast forward the boring parts. Once again, if the characters grew enough in you, give season 2 a shot. Deeper connection, slightly better acting, more focus on Pharm and Bright, Cho and yihma (not sure of the spelling here-his girlfriend), the confrontation between korn and his dad, all of that makes the show enjoyable despite major flaws and thin plot / poor writing sometimes. Korn has a genuinely good heart and this alone would make me stay till the end.

Pretty decent show but something is missing to make it very good for me: the romance! Couldn't connect with the love story at all. As you said, you don't know if Knock is actually in love with either Korn of Pleng... Looks like he finally went with Korn not because he loves him but because he discovered Phleng was a bad person, so Korn was the only one left?! His dumbness and hesitations were boring. I loved Phleng as an evil character btw, I really thought she was a good person at first, totally got me!
They could have cut the show in half, as in the first half nothing happens. And the editing was so bad at times: you have a pseudo romantic scene with romantic music, it switches to a villain with heavy music and hop you switch back to the romantic scene. Talk about a mood killer... Farm story was touching though, ready to endure anything for Dr Bright, until it breaks him. Yihwa was the mood saver. And then you have the other show saver: Korn and Knock hot bodies... OMG. I want their body. In every possible meaning, thank you. It will be the only reason I'll ever watch season 2. And go back to the gym when it reopens lol.

Sei no Gekiyaku (Japanese) [Dangerous Drugs of Sex]

Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. Unknown to him, he is saved by mysterious man Yoda Ryoji, and he wakes up finding himself tied up in leather and belts in a very BDSM setting. This mysterious saver soo...

Drug Shore (Chinese)

Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. The film may not be the best, but it does have a noble intention to remind everyone of the evil affects of drugs and combining that with sex. Ah Zhe is in a happy relationship with his influencer boyfriend. On his partner's birthday, they end up going to a party, which interestingly is being hosted at a drug dealer's house and this is where for the first time he is exposed to the world of drugs. The duo somehow do it just enough and come back home but next day Ah She gets invited by the dealer Xiao Fei for a meal. The dealer has a soft corner for Ah Zhe, but before anyone realizes, Ah Zhe's life spirals out of control when slowly he starts doing more and more drugs, ...

The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1. Both of them were released after they had informed Shibahara of Aoyama's secret location. Shibahara tortures Seiya's boyfriend leading to Seiya killin...
