Toad Song (China)
Eight-year-old Letian is called to bring his parents to school after getting into a fight and bringing tadpoles. He feels he now needs to find new home for tadpoles, but in the process he realizes the strange setup of his family. Mom and dad don'ts sleep together and an "uncle" stays on. One night he sees his dad with the other guy and he is confused. This new info while working on finding new home for tadpoles brings this small family closer. In the film makers words - "a child helping a tadpole find a home, a story of a child growing up in a marriage of convenience and defining what 'home' means to them" The kid was great and its nice beautiful film.

My Senses Are All I Have to Offer (Portugal)
Lourdes and Lana met telepathically using “sensory pills,” a technology that allows access to other people’s sensations from a distance. After months of relationship, Lourdes decides to visit the country house of her gay parents, Vicente and Carl, and introduce them to her girlfriend. An unforeseen storm changes their weekend plans, locking them at home and, faced with the news of a child missing in the storm, Lana begins to question the limits of her telepathy. I found this film extremely weird tbh in the tone of a subtle science fiction.

While We Still Have Time (Australia) (Doc)
A filmmaker embarks on a poignant journey to connect with her sperm donor father, John, as he faces aggressive cancer. Together, they explore their unique bond, seeking understanding and closure amid life’s uncertainties. Having grown up with lesbian parents and a gay man as her father, the maker tries to capture his dedication to educating younger generations about the AIDS pandemic and his passion for advocacy. A woman's journey of understanding her father’s legacy, while embracing her own. Just alright.

Second Spring (Czechia)
Sixteen-year-old Sasha moved to the Czech Republic with his mother to escape the war in Ukraine. While they manage a small holiday resort on the banks of the Vltava River, David, a charismatic rowing coach, arrives with his club. As the man flirts with his mother, Sasha experiences his first love, unaware of the disappointment that awaits him. Nice and interesting.

The Dysphoria (Australia)
A young transgender woman performs a Satanic ritual to get a vagina but unwittingly invites a demonic presence into her home which demands a terrible sacrifice. The story shows how her partner messes it all up since he just does not agree with the need to transition. One of the few queer horror films out there.

Zari (India/USA)
American teen Neelu feels like a fish out of water amidst preparations for her sister’s wedding in Delhi until she forges a brief and unexpected connection with Zeyb, a quiet sari store clerk who moonlights as an internet drag queen. It is a film that is both relatable in the queer experience around the assumptions of heterosexuality as well as universal as it relates to the relationships between the characters. The film explores identity, self-expression, and belonging through a meeting of two 'misfits'. I loved this film.

Fødselsdage (Denmark) [Birthdays]
Bruno doesn’t get invited to any of the birthday parties in 2nd grade. Bruno is not really ‘one of the boys’ and he will never really be a girl either. When Bruno’s Iranian father Marlon picks him up from school, Bruno tells him about the lack of invitations. Although Bruno doesn’t want to upset or hurt his parents, the three of them enter a new and unfamiliar landscape that they must learn to navigate together. Dunno why but I felt so strongly for that kid who was putting up such a brave front for his parents. Beautiful film IMO.

Curman (Spain) [Cousin]
Antón travels to his grandparents' village to receive his first communion. While celebrating this special day with family, a new way of seeing the world begins to take shape, leading to an experience that will forever mark the course of his life - as an individual, as a cousin, and as a child of God. It doesn't show explicitly what the young cousins do but I think we get an idea.

They're Packing (USA)
Hoping to gain a sense of security, a group of queers head upstate to learn how to shoot a gun, especially since one of the was 'attacked' on the street. But when the first shot goes off, the day of mishaps and mayhem devolves into something much darker. Nice short comedy film. But not sure of the point it was trying to make.

One For The Team (USA)
When trans lacrosse hotshot Nico Ramirez transfers to a wealthy high school to save his Ivy League scholarship, he's forced to navigate privilege, peer pressure, and conflicting feelings about his new access to the toxic boy's club. Will he fight for what he believes and jeopardize his future, or fall in with the crowd and risk losing himself? I think this was supposed to be a pilot episode for a full on series (which would have been very good to see) but I am not sure if this was picked up.

Take a Look at Me (USA)
Zhang, a middle-aged Chinese immigrant, visits the grieving family of his former lover, Ming. Over one afternoon in Queens, he connects with twenty-something Andy, Ming’s genderqueer child. Seeing himself as a father figure, he offers Andy to talk to him just as if he would talk to his father, especially since he believes that his father would have liked to know Andy's true identity.

La Miel Inmaculada (Mexico) [The Immaculate Honey]
Chucho, a young man who was stabbed on his way out of work, receives a visit from his mother, Alma, who travels from afar to take care of him for a few days. During that time, their relationship becomes closer, but Alma soon realizes that, despite their closeness, she knows very little about her son's life (the fact he works as a go-go dancer or even the fact that he is gay)

The Upper Room (USA)
The film centers on the internal conflict of two pastors grappling with their faith and burgeoning forbidden love. Two Pentecostal youth pastors meet every year at a religious conference  and spend time in bed over an afternoon, knowing very well what hey are doing is not right. But one of them may be more involved in their relationship than the other one has any idea of.

Within a Quiet Body (USA/Chile)
Alex, a jaded cleaner at a gay sex club, tries to satiate his repressed desires through extreme sex. He likes to be dominated, slapped, burnt and degraded, but he cannot find any guys to hookup online who will fulfill these fantasies. He finally finds someone in the sex club who is willing to go to the extreme with Alex. I am not sure what the point of this short film was.

Sunday Sauce (USA)
A repressed Italian-American father is thrust into his worst nightmare when his secret online twink crush shows up to his family´s Sunday dinner. Meanwhile, an Italian grandmother's unfiltered comments add to the chaos. The film reiterates the concept of queer identity and the repression of same in culture and religion in a comical way.  It’s about hiding, revealing, and transforming—all within the crucible of family.

Spa Night (USA)
Kell, a lonely thirty-something navigating heartbreak, visits a high-end Manhattan spa for what begins as a night of relaxation but quickly turns into a surreal journey of desire, voyeurism, and tension. When a risky connection with a fellow spa guest takes an unexpected turn, Kell is forced to confront the impact of his own isolation and loneliness. Interesting but felt a bit too short.

Pining (USA)
A salty, millennial gay wars with a spunky, Gen Z female he considers a threat to Fire Island Pines' already crumbling shore while attempting to seduce the optimistic influencer who brought her. Set in Fire Island Pines, the natural erosion of the iconic island sets the stage for an unconventional love story between an older man, who believes his existence is deteriorating, and a younger one, who is optimistic about his future. This was a bit confusing for me.

Orion's Quest (USA)
Before a powerful eclipse occurs, an extraterrestrial being must finalize his mission to comprehend love, by exploring the romantic relationships between black gay men. Through a series of all too familiar dates via the dreaded dating apps, Orion navigates the Black gay scene while asking the ultimate question: why? Why are Black gay men as a community the least likely to fall in love? As a literal outsider analyzing the romantic landscape of Black gay men, Orion wades through the nebulous world of dating, tasked with finding the metaphorical diamond in the rough and uncovering the secret to love for this seemingly “loveless” community.

Sei no Gekiyaku (Japanese) [Dangerous Drugs of Sex]

Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. Unknown to him, he is saved by mysterious man Yoda Ryoji, and he wakes up finding himself tied up in leather and belts in a very BDSM setting. This mysterious saver soo...

Drug Shore (Chinese)

Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. The film may not be the best, but it does have a noble intention to remind everyone of the evil affects of drugs and combining that with sex. Ah Zhe is in a happy relationship with his influencer boyfriend. On his partner's birthday, they end up going to a party, which interestingly is being hosted at a drug dealer's house and this is where for the first time he is exposed to the world of drugs. The duo somehow do it just enough and come back home but next day Ah She gets invited by the dealer Xiao Fei for a meal. The dealer has a soft corner for Ah Zhe, but before anyone realizes, Ah Zhe's life spirals out of control when slowly he starts doing more and more drugs, ...

One Summer Night (Korean)

I really wanted to like this film but for non native speakers, these movie leaves a lot to be understood and the way scenes were unfolding in front of me, I wasn't sure many times what was really going on. The story had potential button getting any back story on any of the characters limited my ability to empathize with any of these actors. Film starts with two North Korea military guys Yong Joon and Jae Sung having sex and they are caught red handed and they run. Three years later we see Yong Joon in Seoul leading a very mundane and poor life. He has a boyfriend Tae-Kyu, who is a weird guy. He is carefree, doesn't do any work and is completely emotional and financially dependent on Young Joon. In fact, even Yong Joon will go to any lengths to protect him , fend for him and taking care of him to the extent of even taking up prostitution. Suddenly one day Jae Sung appears in their life again. His motivation is not clear but it is obvious he wants Yong Joon back in his life, who ...
