Yet another enemies to lover story in the BL world, this series has some charm to it, thanks to its two main leads. The setting of a resort and a very grounded life-like romance between the two makes it a relatable yet swoon-worthy watch with realism and chemistry. The fact that it's only 6 episodes adds to the charm and the story doesn't stray into unnecessary sub plots. Each episode is about 35 minutes and the principal photography is very good to look at.
The story is straight forward. In the setting of a resort that plans events for its clients, we see that the General Manager has decided to resign to focus on his health and in next three months, he needs to pick a new GM. Drew, who has been working with him for a while seems natural choice , but a new employee Shawn mixes things up. Shawn is nice and friendly but Drew sees him as a competition and trie to avoid him. Also given Drew has a family to support, this promotions is really critical for me. One day they both realize their common love for dogs and turns out that the dog cafe that Drew often visits with his dog is co owned by Shawn and his sister. The two start to become friends and clearly there is connection but every time Shawn tries to make a move or propose something Drew backs up excusing himself for "right time". Their two co-workers try to help them understand their love for each other. Alongthe way there are misunderstandings where mostly Drew thinks that Shawn is using his influence and friendship with the manager to get the job, but eventually when Drew gets chosen , he is in for a shock. Turns out that Shawn is the son of the owner, who also has always struggled to prove his worth and not be just son of a rich family. Finally the two confess their love for each other.
This series nicely shows how love can happen in the most unexpected places. Even as they try to fight it, Drew and Shawn fall deeper for each other during simple shared moments — vet visits, a casual photoshoot, a deep conversation. This reminds us that even in the complicated world of modern dating, love does not always need drama or grand gestures. Sometimes, time, laughter, and openness are enough. All these feel very organic and natural and not forced at all (like Thai dramas where the romance sometimes feel forced). Chemistry, insecurities, friendship feel all organic. The series also shows us importance of friends and friendship. If not for the support of his friends, Drew woul never have been able to realize how he feels for Shawn and admit it. Sure, his responsibility towards his family comes first but he has equal right to his own happiness. It broke my heart to hear in the last episode when he cries and says he can't remember last time he was happy since he has always been working forever. Both actors playing the leads are very cute and have an insane chemistry. Surprisingly, they both look very alike and if not for the chain that Drew wears, I would be so confused in first couple of episodes to differentiate between the two. The OTT office girl was very funny and her expressions always were priceless. The side story of fourth employee being courted by an ex-guest was also quite decent and just enough to keep the momentum going. Overall, this series is a nice fresh take on the beautiful yet confusing realities of modern gay dating. (6.5/10)
