This indie film is a really powerful look at how a community can suffocate you and the hidden corners young people have to find just to be themselves in so many European towns, even with all the progress we've seen lately. The whole story plays out while the town is bracing for a massive, raging flood, and you just can't shake the feeling that some kind of intense reckoning or unavoidable doom is headed their way. To be honest, I didn't go in with super high expectations, but the way it’s put together makes it a seriously compelling watch. Plus, it’s not every day you get to see an LGBT-themed movie coming out of Croatia! The story follows Marko, a popular 18-year-old kid who seems to have it all—he’s got a girlfriend, he’s a competitive arm wrestler, and he’s well-liked at school. When he isn't in class, he’s usually hanging out with his brother, who has a disability, or helping his mom out in her greenhouse. Everything gets flipped upside down when a guy named Slaven ...
Don't let this film title fool you. There is absolutely no flirting going on here - neither with Anthony or with anyone else. The first 15 minuted itself is a weird sexual and torture perversion, without giving you any context at all, and I was like am I watching a wrong movie or something? And when the film finally starts, it gos into some other zone which is even worse.
In the beginning we see Anthony in some garage Locke and being abused and then some guy comes and rescues Anthony and together they abuse the other guy (totally random with no context). Net we know, Anthony lives together with Donna and her gay brother. When Donna's father die, they decide to go on a road trip. They meet few people and sex encounters with few male hookers. And they also end up meeting one of the guys form the original gang. That guy and Anthony have hot torrid sex in a public bathroom. Anthony falls for this guy and decides to stay with him. Donna decides to leave them both and drive away from them.
This film is an absolute mess and I can't imagine anyone at al wanting to see it. is a failed experiment in combining gay sex with violent imagery. Not the actors, not the filmmaker's family members or the director himself would want to be caught dead watching this random monstrosity. As an audience, you keep waiting for something to happen, but this random couple , who are together just because they have good sex keep meeting strangers for sex and experiment. The arrival of an older gang member makes you think, some drama will happen now, but nothing really ever happens. This film is of no interest to gay or straight or any sane normal person whatsoever. This film is to be stayed away from completely. (1/10)
