For a change, this Thai BL series blends gaming elements with a workplace romance. You like don't wanna think the plot too seriously because the events happening here (romance simulation game) do not make sense to develop a game, but the chemistry is there. As much as I was enjoying the first few episodes, pretty soon it became the run of the mill story with too much fillers just to take the show to 12 episodes. And tell you what, these episodes are like almost an hour each or even longer in certain cases.
There are two love stories - one his the main central and like always another one with friends who are common between the two protagonists. Young boy Hill is addicted to a romance simulation game on phone and obsessed with Yuka, the central female character, so when he gets a job in the company who created it, he is very happy. AI generated Yuka has helped Hill get over. A lot of obstacles in life. Yuka gave Hill an emotional intimacy. At work he learns form his boss Junji that Yuka will be shut off soon and he is devastated to hear this. Looking at Hill's love and dedication for Yuka, the boss Junji tasks Hill with creating a program where the loyalists to Yuka could have a period of reprieve to allow Yuka a dignified and honorable way to fade away. He alongwithhis colleague try to find a suitable man on whom they can model this new male character and eventually zero down on their boss. He now needs to finish three different tasks of wooing his boss Junji to get a much data possible to create the game. As their pretend relationship develops, something really begins to happen between the rather cold and distant Junji and Hill. Both become intertwined with each other and despite their vast differences and clumsy approaches, manage to find a togetherness that works and intensifies. The other love story is between Junji's friend Phat, who is a chef and Bay, Hill's co-worker who although infamous for being a womanizer falls hard for Phat. Phat takes time to warm unto him , plus there is some family drama where Phat is not sure but it all comes together eventually.
Blending a workplace romance and online gaming world was interesting. I particularly enjoyed first couple of episodes where Baya nd Hill spend time in looking for a suitable candidate to model their new game on, but when the tasks start for Hill to touch Junji's hands or woo him or touch him did not make much sense to me. Everyone knows this is a task so how doe sit all play out? If I keep that aside for now, the love growth is natural otherwise between the two especially since the more time they spend. Coming up of an ex-boyfriend in the mix also changes things and make Hill realizes how much he loves Junji and vice versa. There is another twist when it is revealed that even though Yuka was a female model, all her emotions and personality was actually based on Junji. The actors did their part nice, but somehow I better actor for Junji would have been nice. Hill does a good job. We have seen Bay and Phat in other shows before. The last few episodes were just fluff in my opinion. In addition, the ending felt a bit rushed and just too neatly wrapped up but not necessarily coherently. It seemed a bit nebulous. I was not sure what was happening. Both couples’ relationships just seemed to be floating on by without any clear direction. It just felt uneven and unfinished. (6/10)
