Young Samuel is from a very low income family and is a struggling actor. He dreams of making it big some day. One day he goes for an audition, which turns out is for an erotic gay love story which will involve intimate scenes and kisses and nudity. The man is desperate, so, of course, he is ready to do anything. The director of this film is Wilfredo, a struggling filmmaker who stakes everything on their film in the making and like Samuel also hopes for the best. With much struggle they are able to complete the film but their hopes come crashing down when the Board of Censors gives an X-Rating to the film, which means that it is banned from being shown publicly. Their path toward fame and fortune is suddenly littered with even more obstacles.
The film's quality and shoot style was not the best. It actually felt like a documentary, which given the title and synopsis would have made better sense. And the film takes forever. Almost first 35-40 minutes go in auditioning various boys and the lusty producer eyeing every prospect. Clearly he is looking for looks while director is looking for talent as well. Thankfully Samuel get the job and next 20-30 minutes are shown shooting the film, including what goes on behind shooting the so called intimate scenes. And finally the censor board verdict and the film just randomly ends. I wish, more was shown around what do people do in such cases? Is there a hope for the director? What happens to Samuel? Will his journey as an actor continue? Or he will go back to his lowly life? The film doesn't provide answers. It merely evokes thoughts and questions in your mind. This film had the potential to be so much more but alas!! (2.5/10)
