This show was an absolute pleasant surprise. It combined some of my favorite genres like legal cases, with just the right amount of flintiness, goofiness and romance. The lead actors complement each other so well and one the leads is extremely gorgeous and handsome. Their love story begins with lots of playful mischief and sexual tension. It turns into a sweet romance with many lovey-dovey moments, so you'll laugh or swoon at the couple's entertaining relationship scenes. With 12 episodes each of about 20 minutes each, this was definitely worth the time spent.
Shiba is a top lawyer working in a company and soon became the youngest partner in the firm with his unwavering dedication to work. But he is known to be arrogant and so work focused that none of his assistants has ever stayed with him and he has already lost 99 such folks. Shiba's boss respects his employee's talent. However, he grows frustrated by Shiba's inability to work well with others. His best friend is his colleague who is gay. Their working styles are different but they have mutual respect for one another. One day, Shiba meets another patron Haruto whom he ends up injuring. Feeling responsible, Shiba checks to see if the injured bar patron is okay. He unexpectedly finds himself charmed by the stranger's sweet smile and calm demeanor. Shiba goes for camping and to his surprise Haruto shows up there. One thing leads to another with Haruto openly flirting with Shiba and even climbing into his tent. Shiba feels flustered, especially since he isn't used to receiving such romantic attention. Although he tries to resist, Shiba finds himself drawn to the mysterious man with an unknown past. Haruto soon moves in and slowly Shiba finds himself being drawn to Haruto and his unconditional love. Haruto also unofficially becomes his assistant of sorts and starts helping Shiba with investigative work that Shiba needs for his cases. Together they win a few cases, making Shiba's dreams come true, until one day the biggest case of Shiba's career knocks the door. The case of malpractice by a construction company has unexpected links to both Shiba and Haruto's past, which they slowly uncover and together wow to win this case and be there for each other. In between there is a minor misunderstanding with hart's part of having worked with a scam construction company, but that is soon resolved. In a very endearing and nail biting ending, the duo win the case and commit to their unwavering love for one another.
No cringe, neither overly sexualized nor overly cutesy, but just the right amount of everything bound together to give you an exciting plot to look out for. When was the last time you could have said all these things for a BL show. Something or the other always takes precedence in BL shows. But this was different. The very charming chemistry between a serious lawyer and an attractive stranger makes you giggle at the playfulness, swoon over the flirtiness, and cheer for the couple's happiness. You may even feel amused by the delightfully odd moments, like Shiba's conversations with his succulent plants. Together, their unwavering support to each other in their own way was very nice to watch and you root for them as audience. Haruto is shown as a mysterious character and you wanna know more about him but fascinating enigma keeps you intrigued about his true intentions. The actor playing the part does a marvelous job of portraying mischief and being naughty. While also his ability to become anything to help investigate cases to help out Shiba. His co-actor playing Shiba embodies a stoic lawyer, and just fits his part to the T. I maybe not in majority here, but damn he was good looking. That serious look, the perfect nose, glasses and suit; every time he was on the screen, I was personally just glued to his good looks. I believe he isa new actor since I dont remember seeing him before in any other show. Since this is a BL, even though we see 3-4 legal cases, they are never properly developed and that is ok with me. They show enough, that through those makers can show how the eventual relationship between Shiba and hart is developing. The show understands its strengths and wisely prioritizes the BL content over the legal proceedings.
Overall the show may feel simple at times, but you cannot deny that it will make you swoon and it will make you laugh as well at a few places, at least in fort few episodes and the chemistry between the leads is crackling. If I had to complain, I have to admit that physical connection between the two and the kiss they share was very bland, but I am willing to ignore it. For me, this show was a charmer and a complete winner. (8.5/10)
