This is a nice romantic series, full on focused on creating a cozy, warm romance between its leads with time travel aspect thrown it; which I have to say made it very appealing. There is a level of sincerity that this show tries to achieve which I really appreciated. However, there is a lot that it needs to unpack in its 6 episodes, of about 30 minutes each; so to some viewers, some of the chapters may feel rushed. For me it was fine, because I would rather have that than boredom starting to creep in.
Aksorn doesn't have best relation with his father who wants him to take up something more serious as a career option rather than literature. Aksorn moves out and by luck finds a room close to the university, just made available on the third floor. The previous tenant has left a big mirror in the room. Because of the virally of meteor showers that happen that night, something mystical happens. The mirror has surprisingly become a see through window of sorts. Aksorn can now see into what appears to be another universe, similar to ours but uniquely different. Not only that, but there is also another individual staring back at him in total disbelief as well. Maybe it's another dimension or parallel universe, whatever you want to call it. The boy on the other side is named Songjam and they both are equally confused as to what is going on. Because they are both as confused, a deeper connection starts to develop between the two. They also both realize that they are in different time periods. The only thing separating them is a thin piece of glass. It does not mean that they cannot feel each other’s warmth or imagine each other’s touch or sensations. But they are very much falling in love. During this time Aksorn meets a guy named Kyo, who seems to be everywhere and conveniently shows up at the most opportune times for Aksorn. We find out more of him later. One day Aksorn finds out that an author has published first chapter of a story which is exact story of what was happening between Aksorn and Songjam's life. He is baffled and tries to find out what is going on. He traces the author and finds that she had received the Manu script long time back and now when she read again, she found it interesting. When Aksorn reaches back home, he sees the mirror is broken and Songjam is no longer there. (Another comet activity happened, which opened a portal of sorts in the mirror and Songjam jumped on the other side).
Songjam hoped that this way he will be able to unite with Aksorn, but it gets more complicated when he realizes that he is actually in the past, about 25-30 years in the past from where Aksorn was supposed to be. This is where the time travel angle starts. We see how Songjam meets a very friendly a nice couple, who become his guardian. He shares his story with the wife, who believes him and writes down the whole story. They give Songjam a new name is real life. He is now called Kyo, who eventually becomes a doctor. This couple has a son and they name him Aksorn, as a tribute to Kyo's life. You know now where this is headed. Back to present time, Kyo, who is older version of Songjam, tells Aksorn everything and they finally unite despite a he age gap between them.
Honestly I didn't think much of the show in the first 3 episodes. I thought this is going to be another one of the Thai producers attempt at making a failed story of parallel. Universe concept. But once the time travel angle came in, I was hooked. Their introduction was not the friendliest. But given that the two men cannot touch each other, it was a challenge to make their bond feel meaningful without traditional romance scenes. For me, it worked only partially. I just wanted to know what is going on. It's the eventual time travel twist and the mysterious Kyo that shocks you. A viewer may laugh at the audacity of such a twist, but I am a huge fan of shows like 'Dark' and this was my sweet spot. As the events unfolded, I felt mindfucked. I admire the storyteller's imagination for stretching the space-time continuum and I loved it. The show suddenly became very nice for me in the second half and this is where my whole interest was now in. A lot of people will have problems with the huge age gap between the two guys eventually, which they haven't made very obvious in the show by keeping Kyo looking young. It's not like the show doesn't have its flaws. The ending did feel rushed. Like Aksorn suddenly writing a book, his father being very accepting of this odd relationship, what did Kyo do all these years. If Aksorn's father was his close friend, did he not seen Aksron grow up all these years? As far as acting is concerned, Aksorn and Songjam share a good chemistry. Same cannot be said about Kyo-Aksorn pair though! Also we never get to know what world did Songjam originally came from? I would give full marks for novel story idea and trying to do their best, but you have to remember that you may have to shut off your Brian in trying to find logic in certain places and then you maybe ok. For a romantic BL, this show is also missing out on some romance buildup and loving scenes. Better romantic sparks between Aksorn and Kyo would have taken this show to a befitting finale. (6.5/10)
