This Hindi movie is a pretty straightforward slice-of-life story that tries to give a modern look at what it's like to be a single, professional gay man. It dives into how he understands who he is, the chances he missed out on, and the personal choices he’s made along the way. The director used three parallel timelines to tell the story, which honestly didn't make much sense to me. While the core idea was actually pretty interesting, I really feel like this would have worked way better as a short film considering the point it was trying to make. Still, it wasn't a bad watch. The plot centers on Rachit, a city professional, and his friend Shikhar as they hang out for an evening. Rachit is a polished, urban guy, while Shikhar has more of a "small-town" rustic vibe, and you can really see the contrast between them when they talk. As the night goes on, Rachit starts thinking back to some old memories from a long time ago. He remembers being an intern after college in ...
There was a time some of the popular BL series would come with a special episode of sorts to show what happens after the couple gets together. This show takes it forward by actually creating a 3 part mini-series as a continuation of "Your Sky". These three episodes are just fluffy fillers, which pretty much is in the same zone as its parents show. The episodes are about 40 minutes each.
Teerak (Rak) and Fah are a very happy couple, now that they have declared their relationship with friends and their families as well. Teerak's birthday is approaching and Fah wants to surprise him. All the friends get involved in planning this surprise, needlessly complicating things for additional run-time and comedy. and eventually Rak gets a wonderful surprise. Then Teerak wants to get Fah a present for his graduation but he wants to do with some of his own earned money and not from his dad, so he tries his best while again keeping it a secret from Fah. But Fah wants to get more and bigger presents for Rak because he likes him so much. We also get brief moments of jealousy when an old friend of Teerak's shows up who also confesses his love for him. Thankfully Fah and Ran are shown as a couple who believe inc communication, so that goes out of the window pretty quick. Our second and third couple have a few sweet moments, but insignificant overall.
Clearly the plot here is loose and maybe the makers have tried to cat in the popularity of the show. (Although I honestly don't know if this was really popular in the local turf). The mini-series was almost like 3 special episodes, which were made likely to just bring a smile on your face and keeping the mush factor. The original series had a small amount of conflict, but here there’s nearly none. Sometimes, Fah and Rak don’t immediately get what they want, which is hard. But they have each other and their friends to help them survive these minuscule road bumps. If you wanted more, then you will be disappointed. This was designed just to celebrate the main couple, especially since it ends in almost a proposal kind of romantic environment. I would recommend to watch this, if you enjoyed the original show and are so invested in it that you would love to know what happens next, but other than that, it is easily avoidable. (4/10)
