This Hindi movie is a pretty straightforward slice-of-life story that tries to give a modern look at what it's like to be a single, professional gay man. It dives into how he understands who he is, the chances he missed out on, and the personal choices he’s made along the way. The director used three parallel timelines to tell the story, which honestly didn't make much sense to me. While the core idea was actually pretty interesting, I really feel like this would have worked way better as a short film considering the point it was trying to make. Still, it wasn't a bad watch. The plot centers on Rachit, a city professional, and his friend Shikhar as they hang out for an evening. Rachit is a polished, urban guy, while Shikhar has more of a "small-town" rustic vibe, and you can really see the contrast between them when they talk. Chun is a galactic civil engineer who is tasked to demolish Earth to make way for a new intergalactic expressway. However, on his arrival on Earth, Chun is captivated by the delectable homemade Thai dishes served by Chondan, the owner of a quaint Thai restaurant. Instead of going ahead with his world-ending plan, Chun secretly postpones it, lured by the promise of more delicious meals with Chondan, and decides instead, that if he ever grows tired of the flavours, he can return to his original mission. Generously, Chondan, unaware of Chun's plan, offers him a spare room in his apartment, making them not only dinner buddies but also housemates and their bond deepens with every meal they share. In parallel we have a hair salon boy who gives food to an older gentleman every day, who eventually turns out to be his father with Alzheimers. There is this girl who provides him coffee everyday, but suddenly they have a fight. Back to original story, as you can imagine, Chun struggles whether or not he should destroy the world, because slowly he starts to see and appreciate that people on earth have a heart, they have feelings, they care for and respect each other, but he is also worried about the punish ment he will get in his planet Ince he goes back. In a silly finale, this girl drops a glass of coffee on the equipment which was meant to destroy the earth and lives are saved. Chondan makes Chun stay back and finally confesses his love.
The story, though an interesting premise, is an intriguing mess. Yes, I have realized that we should not use much of our brain when it comes to some of these stories, but I mean come on!! Then, why were these all these sides characters. The salon guy, the coffee girl (I thought they will turn lovers but nothing happens), then cats turning into overweight characters, it's cute first time but annoying later. There's too many filler that didn't have any impact to the overall story. And thats because there is nothing in story. Chun keeps wondering whether he should destroy earth, the restaurant guy, for some reason is enamored by him and keeps giving him free food and shelter and the side characters have their own thing going. The one good thing about the show was the two good looking leads and they also acted quite decent I must say. Sadly, this story doesn't do any justice plus lack of a proper BL theme and romance made this show a waste of time for me. (3/10)
