This Hindi movie is a pretty straightforward slice-of-life story that tries to give a modern look at what it's like to be a single, professional gay man. It dives into how he understands who he is, the chances he missed out on, and the personal choices he’s made along the way. The director used three parallel timelines to tell the story, which honestly didn't make much sense to me. While the core idea was actually pretty interesting, I really feel like this would have worked way better as a short film considering the point it was trying to make. Still, it wasn't a bad watch. The plot centers on Rachit, a city professional, and his friend Shikhar as they hang out for an evening. Rachit is a polished, urban guy, while Shikhar has more of a "small-town" rustic vibe, and you can really see the contrast between them when they talk. As the night goes on, Rachit starts thinking back to some old memories from a long time ago. He remembers being an intern after college in ...
I remember enjoying the season 1 when it came out. It was an over the top comedy with some really good gags and comedy that somehow worked for me. I distinctly remember that OTT comedy can get ridiculous, but somehow this series kept fun lively and I had smile on my face. The season 2 of the series follows similar pattern, albite here the conflicts are not that innovative, like they were in first season.
Ba Do and Jackie are now living separately and now have an adopted daughter. Jackie is a strict parent and their 3 year old daughter uses that as an excuse to throw tantrums around and always keep Jackie on his toes. Ba Do is starting a new job and one of his colleagues starts liking him. Similarly Jackie gets a new admirer in the form of his trans friend's cafe's manager. Re-enter Ba Dong's sister, who is still broke as hell, losing money and using every trick in the book to pay off her debts. She ends up selling her mother's house, which forces both the mother and daughter to also move in with the couple. So as expected, fireworks fly all over with the mother-in-law back in the picture. She questions Jackie's parenting style and also his general ways of working. There is a bit of confusion thats tried to create with the two new suitors that are introduced in the show. But that goes nowhere and series just randomly ends.
I think the show just ends midway. Everywhere I searched, there are 12 episodes of the show about 15 minutes each and there is not a clear ending. The show ends where Jackie suspects if there is something going on between his husband and his colleague, but we do not see an ending to it. But thankfully we do see that the mother in law and Jackie make up. I feel either the show was canned mid way or something must have happened. But I couldn't find any information. If any of you knows anything, please do let me know. Everyone continues their goofy characters in this show, although Ba Do and Jackie are more serious here. The fun comes from Ba Do's colleagues who do silly things and Jackie's trans friend. They were all hilarious. Somehow, the fun and comedy is not that much as its original season. Even the parenting part was not fully explored. The daughter is always fighting with Jackie and then suddenly one day she starts missing Jackie and wants him close. There are many aspects that were not fully explored including the ending. Despite that thanks to the sister, her shenanigans, mother-in-law's over protective and controlling nature; the show was still a decent pleasure to watch. However, I do feel it fails to match and keep up with the expectations. (5.5/10)
