This Hindi movie is a pretty straightforward slice-of-life story that tries to give a modern look at what it's like to be a single, professional gay man. It dives into how he understands who he is, the chances he missed out on, and the personal choices he’s made along the way. The director used three parallel timelines to tell the story, which honestly didn't make much sense to me. While the core idea was actually pretty interesting, I really feel like this would have worked way better as a short film considering the point it was trying to make. Still, it wasn't a bad watch. The plot centers on Rachit, a city professional, and his friend Shikhar as they hang out for an evening. Rachit is a polished, urban guy, while Shikhar has more of a "small-town" rustic vibe, and you can really see the contrast between them when they talk. As the night goes on, Rachit starts thinking back to some old memories from a long time ago. He remembers being an intern after college in ...
It is a waste of time just even writing a review of this extremely low production Filipino BL series. Clocking at 8 episodes of average 20 minutes each, it is not too much of a commitment, plus there is so much unnecessary fluff in the whole show that you can easily fast forward half of it. Now I am actually dreading watching season 2 of the show soon after.
Our main protagonist is called 'So' on his Grindr nickname "So Lonely". He has recently broken up with his boyfriend Pablo, who told him that he has a girlfriend and would rather be with her. Extremely dramatic and heartbroken he wants to end his life but his straight best friend puts sense into him and asks him to move on using Grindr. There he meets a guy named Preston (Pre). He refuses to share details about himself, but had his pic on Grindr and the duo start chatting on phone everyday. So tell shim his whole story and Pre helps him to get out of his previous love and move on. In the process So starts falling in love with pre but Pre is a mysterious person. When So decides to visit him in his city, Pre finally shows his true identity. He is not at all the muscular hot guy look that So had in his mind and he feels cheated. Pre thought someone will like him for who he is, but eventually So also is a person going for looks. Anyway, more drama happens but So finally realizes he just has to move on. He gets a surprise visit from his hot ex-boyfriend Pablo and they end up sleeping together. The season ends at a funny note when the guy whose pic the fake Pre was using shows up at So's door.
First of all, I would stay away from a such a dramatic guy like So. He has thing nagging habit of falling in love love with people without knowing much about. Them and falling hard. He then becomes a cry baby. I have to hand it that his straight best friend's character was so supportive of him. I would have given him one tight slap and ask him to come back to reality. First of all the drama he does when he breaks off with Pablo (we are also told that relationship was also questionable since he used to pay Pablo for his services but in his mind they were boyfriends). Right when he is coming out and moving on from Pablo, thanks to constant chats with So, he falls hard for. Guy about whom he knows nothing. More drama ensures. And for all the speech he gives his straight friend about having moved on, he jumps into bed right away when Pablo comes to visit him. God! What a mess!! The makes decides to get muscular guys straight off the gym who had probably no experience of acting. It was obvious on why they were chosen for the project. Strictly ok show which is easily missable. (3/10)
