This Hindi movie is a pretty straightforward slice-of-life story that tries to give a modern look at what it's like to be a single, professional gay man. It dives into how he understands who he is, the chances he missed out on, and the personal choices he’s made along the way. The director used three parallel timelines to tell the story, which honestly didn't make much sense to me. While the core idea was actually pretty interesting, I really feel like this would have worked way better as a short film considering the point it was trying to make. Still, it wasn't a bad watch. The plot centers on Rachit, a city professional, and his friend Shikhar as they hang out for an evening. Rachit is a polished, urban guy, while Shikhar has more of a "small-town" rustic vibe, and you can really see the contrast between them when they talk. As the night goes on, Rachit starts thinking back to some old memories from a long time ago. He remembers being an intern after college in ...
I cant even begin to start writing on what a terrible show this was. I have seen many Filipino really low budget series made just for the sake of it and this one just gets added to that list. 8 episodes averaging to 20 ish minutes each, these are atrocious. There are way too any characters and the story line, even though, could have been developed into something a lot more meaningful, focuses on simply forced sex scenes.
The four Magbuana cousins, Peng, Andy, Lauren, and Kenji, all live together in the same house with their uncle. They are all different in their own way. Peng is their uncle's favorite, Andy is the wealthiest, Lauren is arrogant and naughty, while Kenji is the outcast of the family. Their close cousinly bond is tested when Coby temporarily moves in. He is Peng's best friend. Coby was sexually assaulted sometime back and he doesn't remember it much but has vague memories of it. All t=of these cousins want to have something to do with Coby, but Coby is eventually here to find answers who molested him. He has come with his two assistants. After a few random conversations, the family all sits together where eventually all the four cousins share their version of what happened that night and then separate couples are formed.
It takes a while to really get a handle on what reallyiq going on. The very first episode introduces way too many characters and you have to pay attention to which ones of thee are important and relevant to the main plot. As of this was not enough, Coby comes with 2-3 other folks and suddenly its like house full of young adults full of hormones and at one point it felt like everyone wanted to sleep with everyone. The plot had potential. A young man is sexually molested after getting his drunk and unconscious and he has only vague memories of the incident. He wants to get to the bottom of the truth. Bt the lead up to that and the eventual execution is so bland and tasteless. Also Coby just forgiving all the cousins who were all involved in it in their own way, is just so easy and quick resolution. And then suddenly we have happy couples made. I was like wtf!!
It hurts to watch badly made series, but it hurts even more when you know that the basic plot could have been so relevant and important topic to discuss (gay molestation) but it executed with such amateurish hands, it hurts even more. (2/10)
