The main guy in the story is D, a young 16 year old Black guy who is basically at his sexual peak and spent his summer just looking for action. In the first episode, he meets a 19-year-old online for a hookup, but the kid’s dad walks in right in the middle of things and kicks D out. The rest of the show follows D hanging out with two of his buddies—one who is straight and one who is gay. They’re trying to score some weed, so his friend talks him into hooking up with a dealer just to get the stuff for free. D isn't too sure about it because the dealer is married, but he goes for it anyway because the guy is hot. Of course, the wife shows up at the last second, leaving D frustrated and still looking for a win. We also see D lusting after a guy who comes over to tutor him, but D is too busy staring at the guy’s junk to learn anything. Another episode brings back a guy D used to mess around with, and they end up in a threesome with their gym teacher. The finale is just a total mess and a horrible way to wrap things up.
The title of the show is basically just the main character’s name, and it makes sense because all he cares about is getting laid. I don't mean that as an insult; in a way, it’s almost supposed to be a little endearing. It’s the kind of show that is unapologetically Black and queer, meant for people who just want to see themselves on screen. Sadly, the production is just terrible, with bad acting and characters who constantly say exactly what they’re thinking out loud instead of just acting it out. I’m sure there’s an audience for this stuff, and I’ll admit I watched it hoping for some eye candy, which I did get in the form of some full-frontal nudity. But even knowing the acting would be rough, I was disappointed that the guys weren't as good-looking as the ones in other Signal 23 shows I've seen.
It's a low-budget, poorly acted series that fails to deliver on both story and appeal, even for a "guilty pleasure" watch. (2/10)
